    Very nicely done,
i got an old bike from my local landfill (useable stuff gets set aside and if someone wants it, they just take it)
Then i bought a 2000w 48vdc motor ebike motor online with a 48 volt controller and thumb trigger speed control.
I found a place that resells used and new lithum Iron phospate battery cells, so I bought a bunch of 18650 2600mahr cells and some holders and a pair of BMS,
then looking online i found an inexpensive 48 volt charger to match my cell pack voltage.
To make it easy to be able to peddle or use the motor or do both (on big hills!) I got a second "rear" wheel but put it on the front of the bike with the motor drive. This allowed the front wheel to spin with or without the motor engaged.
Putting it all together took a few nights after work, but was well worth the effort, it works GREAT.
Costs i paid, bike was free at the landfill, as was the extra "rear" wheel that i put on the front of the bike, the motor controller and thumb speed control was $130, enough 18650 cells to build two 14s-4p batteries and BMS was another $100, the charger was $26 but with shipping cost me $40. The Motor came with a cog but it was #25 which is wrong size for North American bicycle chain so i ordered a 40 chain cog online for another $13 and 6.56 shipping. Parts $289 all together and about 2 months for everything to ship, but it was winter so i not mind the wait. The bicycle is so fun to ride, i can't wait to get out after work.
I hope this helps somone else, the seceret was using a rear wheel in the front and put the motor to that wheel, lots cheaper than a hub motor, easy to mount the motor and be able to adjust it. and if you peddle the motor doesn't turn, just the wheel sproket ratchets and not slow you down. If the battery runs out dead, you can still peddle home and not be working to turn the motor too.

Like seriously lol. I would like to see him do it with my old beater messenger bike. Circa 1995. It still works fine. Ancient technology like chromoly steel frame friction shifters and rim style brakes but it wears it's scratches and rust spots like badges of honour from the hell I put it through, especially in our Canadian winters. Anyways, cheers from Canada. Keep the rubber side down.

One of the better videos on this topic out there...and there are a lot! Really like what you did with the brake cut-off switch! Borrowing that mod as I ride without that right now, but my wife might need it. (It’s like riding a motorcycle...cut the gas when you brake.) I also skipped the Hall sensor installation. I think that’s only required in the UK...right?
BTW, there are different brands but I’m pretty sure these DYI kits are all made by the same Chinese company. They ALL have the same exact components. Oh, one other thing...your ESC (controller) mounting was cool too. I put mine on the up-right (seat) frame-tube...but I’ve seen them all over the place. Peace!

You can get less expensive batteries that are of course less powerful and run out of power faster but its still going to be over 250 or 300. All said and done you are looking at a minimum of $500

    1) Is it waterproof ?
    2) My bike don't have disc brake so can I use this kit ?
    3) How much does the battery last ?
    4) What was that thing that you stuck with glue after removing paddle ?
    5) How much do it cost including everything ?
And is it that easy that it seems? And behind the scene difficulties?

    • @cornovii3012
      @cornovii3012 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

yes they are waterproof, yes it will work without a disc brake, the batterys will last depending on how much you spend mostly, avoid cheep batterys as you will only have to go buy a second pack like i do costing you twice as much in the end, i got my wheel including everything except battery's for about £120 English pounds, my first set of batterys was lead acid (wet) batterys 3 x 12v 15ah which didnt last long at all, and yes they are that easy to put together :)
