Nice work Coggie. Im very pleased to see another old bike back to life. Great to see that you press bearings in to head instead hmmering them ;-) I have some advice for you: 1. Use rust inhibitor before painting. 2. Try avoid to use filler (beter to play with primer only if rust marks are not too deep.More work but better results in long shot) 3. When welding with electrode try to place one continous bead instead of short tack welds. 4. Hide your stickers under clearcote that way they last longer.
Wouldn't be 91 or 92 as there were both white and black - 91 was thin black stripes on white and 92 more of a series of black splodges on white (a 91 was my first real MTB!)

Great job. Next time, you could get the frame sandblasted. It will be faster and easier. I did that with an old frame and it got rid of rust completely in few minutes.
@@genesisjulian9524 What about some kind of acid? A lot of people don't realize that acid will strip paint, rust, and grease. So beautiful! I wonder, how easy is braking and shifting gears on that bike. Trying to get older used bike for my lady and she kinda fell in love with my gravel, which are hard to come by in decent price compared to older bikes.
Probably not that great, considering the abhorrent welding on the disc brake conversion and the painting done to the rear derailleur. As for your lady, i hope you got her a nice bike. I personally would've gone for a decathlon bike, as they have really good starter bikes.
Very well done and entertaining restoration video. I have also refurbished old bikes several times, but then mostly consistently replaced all parts. Therefore, I found it great that you have given the rear derailleur again a chance. The bike has become really great. One question I have, what kind of handlebar is that? Manufacturer, model or designation? I have never seen this handlebar. lg Armin
It is not a bicycle renovation, but its building. Only the frame is renewed, the rest of the parts are different. Overall it turned out nice. P.S. This is not rock shox :D

You dont want any grease on the body of the casette hub. Believe me. And maybe you want a back hub with no hollow axle and quick release, just nuts on that kind of frame, to get the wheel in good position for the disc brake.

Here in Philippines sandblaster is kinda expensive, and having angle grinder is an alternative..
Sandblasting "steals" alot of material too, especially on older frames it wouldnt be so good for the material.
