I just got these and they sound great! For $200, these are great value.
I had the 6xx and the biggest immediate difference is how much tighter and deeper the bass is. You actually get a sense of sub bass with these headphones. And he's right, they sound very neutral to my ears as well (maybe a touch bright). On a final note, the sound stage is noticeably wider, and I could not tell a difference in resolution between the two.

I have the he400se chinese version without the stealth and the imaging is not as precise. Dont have the 560s but I put the drivers in a new custom case and now I could hear the clapping go sideways but not upwards/downwords. The he400se have a lot of strength otherwise but I would not recommend them for gaming. Playing Pubg I had a hard time telling where the enemies where behind me. Running an eq helped somewhat together with the famous grill mod. I've watched countless reviews of both headsets and all say the Sennheiser have better imaging. But I love the openess of the HE400SE so thats my go to for music.

My ASUS board actually has a nice DAC with proper amping. It detects the Ohm of the headphone when connecting it, and sets the amplification to one of three available settings. the HD560S for example was connected and it detected an Ohm level of 110 or above and set the amplification to the maximum. This way I have only 40% volume in Windows 11 and Spotify is at about 80% and the volume is perfect. Just a heads up for some of you if you're buying your next motherboard to look out for proper inbuilt soundcards. Mine's called the ROG STRIX B360-G.

14:08 I have the newer revision of the hd560s where they toned down the treble a bit and I can hear the claps change position just slightly though it's more noticeable when they get further away, if I move the drivers forwards of my ear holes then it loses a lot of that positional detail.

Thanks for the great review. Would you recommend the HD 600 over the 560S given the 110$ price difference in Europe where we don't have the 6XX? Also can you tell me if I would be able to power the HD 560S through a usb DAC/Amp such as the Hidizs S9 or bluetooth FiiO BTR5?

I have the dt990 32 ohms and I have to say that the hd560s were a lot more neutral in the sound. DTs are just very bright and boost the bass. Most of the time that's okay but in electronic dance music you really notice the issues with that. Sometimes you can't really hear the singer.

Hey chuck, any chance you would review amps in the future? I got on the Monolith THX 887 hype train to find that they sound no better than the o2+odac. I find that your descriptions of headphones are pretty in line with what I hear so I am really interested to hear what you think about amps. Personally, I did notice a cleaner sound coming out of the o2+odac than mobo audio, but is there any point in going any higher than that in the amp department? Great review! I do have a couple of things to comment on this video, though:
In regards to the E.A.R. technology, it is not the indentation inside the earcup - That's just the swivel for the cups to rotate up and down. The so-called E.A.R. technology is none other than the positioning of the driver. The driver is angled to parallel our ears' real position (hence the name), which indeed improves the soundstage as it allows the sound to come from in front of you just like in real life, as opposed to coming from the sides like most headphones do.
Also, in terms of build quality, I have to tell you, I listened to this video in my HD 598 which I first purchased in 2015 - 5 years with them and only last week the headband padding started to peel off. And the HD598's plastic looks cheaper than that of the HD 560S. So durability will not be an issue.
Finally, this is not something I can prove or elaborate on as deep as I wished, as I'm not that tech savvy, but as far as I know, single-sided headphones can be run on balanced mode, I've read lots of comments on Head-Fi about how to make the HD 5xx series balanced, and I seem to remember from Sennheiser's own website, that they claim the new 560S are already balanced-compatible (provided that you get a balanced cable with their propietary end), like, out of the box. So if you do keep them, don't give up on running them in balanced mode and let us know how they improve.
    So... ¿Un poco picoso, eh?

Great review. I boiled it down to these and the Sundara's and had them back to back a lot. The tonality of the HD 560s is on par, but the Sundara is so far superior with clarity, resolution, and detail.
If Sennheiser makes another headphone with the same tonality as the HD 560s, but has better resolution, detail, clarity, and resolve. Basically a more capable driver with the same tuning, they will have an absolutely incredible headphone.
I wish they used the HD 6x0 series 40mm driver in these instead of the 38mm 500 series driver. If they had done that, I probably would of chose them over the Sundara.

I just got these. I'm honestly not so sure I like them. I'm coming from Porta Pros with Yaxi pads (which I love). I think I may have misunderstood a little what these headphones are for. Some songs and music sound just amazing with them, but others seem to lose their soul and become dry and boring. I think it's like when HD TVs first came out and you could see all the wrinkles on the reporter's face. At first you think "i'm not sure I wanted to see that". That's the same thing here with imperfections in mixing and mastering. Some songs I am just not sure I wanted to hear those details being pushed forward in such an unflattering way.
That said though, when I find a recording that's produced well, they sound pretty great. They also take EQ very well. I find myself using the wavelet and Peace auto EQ presets and they sound very good EQ'd that way. Without, they can border on harsh with some songs though and the lack of mid bass and bloom makes these headphones not nearly as immersive or "juicy" as my Porta Pros, even if the neutrality, detail and clarity is kicked up so high (on a lot of songs anyways).
So I think buying these has showed me what I actually wanted. I wanted a headphone that I could mix on, and that I could use for casual listening. I think in that respect this does exactly what I would need it to do for mixing but falls short. But, I also wanted a headphone I could just listen to music for pleasure on and what these seem to excel at is informing me of the musical and production value of what I'm listening to with painful honesty.
I think I'm just going to return these, and bite the bullet on a set of HD600s or HD650s.

Hd560s for competitive, k712pro for more single-player. Pc38x covers a weird spot where "jack of all trades, master of none" fits the most, but I recommend it as the best headset still, even has better mic than lcd-gx.

I'm right now deciding on these vs dt 880 for getting into music production and just listning to music. I will be using either one with a motu m2 audio interface since i will record guitar aswell and can't afford to spend too much money. I am leaning towards the hd560s but are there any other suggestions? Budget is around 250.

I think you would mostly be looking for an R2R DAC (which tends to smooth out the highs and warm up the bass a bit). A tube amp might also be worth taking a look at, DMS did mention he prefers the 560S on a tube amp for enjoyment purposes.

I bought the NewFantasia replacement cable. It doesn‘t fit. The twist-lock system is not identical which might be the cause or it‘s the slightly bigger base. Anyways, any idea where else i could get a decent, shorter cable at a reasonable ($10-15) price?
