Hello Ma’am,thank you su much for updating everything regarding Mrcp, I still have confusion that after clearing MRCP do we need to go under residency of MRCP (MD) or we are equivalent to MD directly after passing the MRCP¿

    • @AceurMRCP

      Hi Janvi
I would't say MRCP is equivalent to MD as MD is a 3 year residency programme where as MRCP is a degree. I am making a video on MRCP vs MD soon. Please keep watching this space.

You mean to Say to appear for MRCP part 2 and Paces

My date of passing final exam is 30.12.2019 and my PMQ was issued on 11.12.2021 . I understand we would have to email the MBBS degree certificate as the PMQ so which date would be the right one to put for me?

Hello mam, i am preparing to give MRCP Exam in nov. 2022 . During making mrcp account there is a one column that is date of issue (regarding this i have a query). I gave my final year MBBS exams on 06/06/2016 and my final exam result got declared on 28/07/2016 and i recieved PMQ on 20/01/2018.
So my question is above-mentioned 3 dates which date should I fill in date of issue while making mrcp account. your help and guidance regarding this will be very helpful.

      Hi Devi
Last year the RCP mentioned that they were relaxing the 7 year rule as they were aware of the delays in PACES examination because of COVID. The best way to find out is to email RCP and explain your situation. I am sure you will find a slot soon as many of my subscribers have managed to get a PACES slot in India this year.
I would suggest taking the exam in India; attempt in UK only if you manage to get NHS experience either through MTI or clinical attachments.

      @AceurMRCP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Varun
This is a very pertinent question. In my opinion, this would depend entirely on where you want to practice. For example in metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata which are very competetive , MD and DM would be a must where as in tier 2 or 3 cities that may not be necessary. Also, most importantly in order to pass MRCP you would need good clinical knowledge not only in Diabetes but in medicine overall. Finally, degrees are definitely a boost in your CV but it is ultimately your clinical knowledge and experience that would help you confidently manage any patient.
My next video will covering questions like this. Please keep watching this space:). I wish you all the best for your preparation. MRCP will definitely make you a better doctor.

Total MRCP journey would roughly take you two to 3 years deoending on your preparation , commitment to exams and exam slot availabilty.
For IMT training (similar to MD),you don't need full MRCP but MRCP is must for ST training ( which is equivalent to DM). You would need to have substantial clinical, research and leadership experience to get into training; all these are achievable with the right mentorship and planning.

      Hi Ali
I will not recommend giving up clinical practice to prepare for the exam, if your aim is to work in the UK after MRCP. The reason is that when you apply for a job, your CV may not get selected if you have substantial career gaps.

I have passed my MBBS in 2021 and now due to added reservation, dropping plan of NEET PG and going for PLAB. However, my PLAB1 is still about 10 months later. Do you recommend that I finish my MRCP Part 1 in the meantime? In terms of clinical experience , I have completed internship in 2021, then 1 year clinical gap and now working as a Cardiology RMO in a private hospital in Kolkata. That would do right?

      Hi Antradeep
I always recommend my subscribers a easy way to choose between MRCP and PLAB.
Go for PLAB if you are unsure which specialty you want to do. PLAB is easier to pass.
MRCP is more streamlined for medicine and allied specialties. If you are sure you want to do medicine or critical care etc. go for MRCP as this will place you at a higher rank. There is really not much benefit in doing both PLAB and MRCP.

      Hi Madhu
You would have to look for careers in metabolic medicine or chemical pathology. For MRCP, you would need to have substantial experience in clinical medicine.

hello Ma'am. thank you for such a clear video. I just have one question; I have completed my Mbbs and done with internship I also have 2 years post internship experience in a clinic as GP and have worked in several Private hospitals. if I wish to pursue MRCP. can I take all 3 steps, or do I need 2 years' experience in Internal medicine as M.O or trainee?
also, if I do 2 years MCPS training in any medicine allied program such as Pulmonology can would it count as 2-year experience?

      Hi Aayan
As soon as a candidate finishes internship, they are eligible for MRCP .With your clinical experience you can most definitely attempt the exam.
      all the best

      Hi
Exam fees are mentioned in the video. For theory exam the main resources that you need to get is a question bank subscription, either Passmedicine or Pastest. The cost depends on the duration on your subscription, check their individual websites. For PACES , course fees are roughly 1400 GBP.
