What a great video. When I first created my own custom paint scheme, I had to go through a couple of video's from diferent sources to understand the different processes. I wish this video existed back then as you covered literally everything and should now be used as the gold standard, go to video for anyone who wants to run their own liveries. Great job AJ.
Thank you sir! I figured why not put it all in one video and honestly it doesn’t take a crazy amount of time to put a scheme together and have it look good
For me part of the problem following you is I can't see your cursor so I don't know what you're opening sometimes, like in the spec map part, you say "we're gonna go ahead and turn on our spec map" yet I don't see where you did this, it just magically happened! I hope you understand what I mean... I've never done spec map stuff so a bit more precise details would help, that or edit some circles into the video to show where you clicked... I appreciate your time doing this though!
Please do because I’m wanting to learn more for Gimp so I can design my cars myself instead of paying people. I’ve been playing around with it. But the spec map I can’t figure out on gimp and also doing designs and stufff and making the logos very clear is my problem
I’ll try getting an updated version this weekend as I’ve figured out way more stuff lately since I’ve been designing the car for the 24 hours of daytona
How to you delete layers from a paintjob? Got a paintjob from someone who turned out to be a bit of a bigot and want to get his paint shop deleted off of the paint job.
@@stevens_motorsports pretty sure exported but I just used the dropper to copy the colour and painted over everything even went max zoom to get each individual pixel that had a parts of the old logo left needless to say it’s looking way better

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Game changer?
Yes. You'll see.@@stevens_motorsports
do you have any tips on how to not have any Jaggard lines when you select by color
So I have a part 2 video as well and if you watch that it will die you how to clean up some of that
I selected by color but it wont change? CANNOT MODIFY PIXELS OF A LAYED GROUP is what it says?
You have to make sure if your changing the template color you have to have that specific layer selected on the right side
I guess I am missing something but when I select the color the entire car changes color not just the section selected
Make sure your template is selected before you select by color

So I did do a newer version of this video since it was about a month ago or so
In that one I made sure to make it to where you could see the cursor cause I figured that was a problem
instead of copy layer and paste, just click on the layer and do alpha to selection, then when you go into specmap layer that part will be highlighted
Hadn’t tried that yet. I need to do an uodate to this cause there’s alot I’ve learned since then

So is it already a png or did he give you the whole unexported paint scheme

Yea it’s way easier to do it with the uncompressed final cause then you can do it by layer instead of tinkering with the final file
