Hi Vida, i agree it is a cool idea for an excercise, but i am just for fun, and if it gets to limited, it becomes work 😀 . And that ' not what i want to get out of painting.Great Video and great advise, Thank you!
No I agree with you, if it becomes heavy and without any sense of creativity flowing through you then stop and go back to what excites you in painting. We are here to have FUN and to paint beautiful paintings. Thanks so much for your comment. I appreciate it ;)
Adding compliments next to each other will bring them out. If you add a touch of yellow next to the grey, the grey will be more blue. That being said. I do think it looks better with the blue sky
Thanks so much! I tried this by making the cloud more yellow than what I normally do. If I don’t have a blue next to this painting I can actually see the sky as more blue. I too like the added ultramarine blue better.
I had read someplace that the basic palette was just where he started and in portraits he found that suggesting the blue was generally enough but was never shy about adding colors. I loved the grayish sky in your painting. It reminded me of home.
