HOW to Catch Halalu (SMALL AKULE) | FISHING at ALA MOANA | Hawaii Fishing

In this video we take you to Ala Moana Beach park to go fishing for HALALU (Small Akule). During the summer months large schools of halalu come in the shallows to feed and seek protection from the predators in the deeper water. Halalu make great bait for larger fish or can be eaten (which is a local favorite) In florida they are called goggle eyes or google eyes and can fetch up to $100 a dozen. Wish we could selling them like that over here in Hawaii.
