Where you fishing, you should throw one line short -- just outside the white water -- for moi. If get popaa and toau, guatanteed get moi too. But moi tend to feed in the white water so you throwing too far out. Make your lead line at least 3 feet long and two hooks. You want your bait to be near the surface for moi.
@@justfishhawaii923 I fish on the Big Island now, and I always throw one pole short for moi, and the other outside for papio or oio. When you throw short, don't be afraid to get stuck. Even if stuck, LEAVE it there. The moi will come in and grab the bait even if your lead is stuff. I use a 10 lb. lead line for my sinker so that even smaller moi can break the lead line. Good luck, Tight lines.
You ever try whipping squid strips? Just cut um thin like the minnow strips you see in the store and use a 1/4-3/8 oz egg lead, you can catch pretty much any predatory reef fish.

Mainline>three way
Three way>6" circle hook
>1 arm length of line>three way
Three way>6" circle hook
>2 foot lead line>2-3oz lead
Typically, in rocky areas, your lead line should be longer than your leader line to keep the bait and hook off the reef.
I’m going to try that next time 🤙🏽
@@justfishhawaii923 Try attaching the weight with a rubber band as well. It will break before 20lb test. Enjoyed the vid.
