Oh wow! Thank you for sharing this with us! Our mum Anne learnt it from our dad’s late sister, decades ago. Our aunt was actually married into a family with ties to Pondicherry. We are Malaysian Catholics and celebrate Christmas but never knew this to be a Pondicherry tradition. We always had it on special occasions, not specifically at Christmas. Now we know! Thank you 💗
Both my Grandparents from mom and Dad side are from Pondicherry and to my surprise i was served a similar mutton chops from my mom in law... who is also from Pondicherry. We are all catholics... and there are many more unique heritage dishes that Only Pondicherry people... knew 😃🙏
