Mackies for the sound & price can't beat it...not to say qsc will most likely last you longer...just extremely expensive just as all pioneer dj equipment....hope they bring back denondj. My personal opinion best sounding speakers have been b52, Peavey blk widow series, & Yamaha club series non powered I'm referring to...I like altos, Mackies, EVs for the fair pricing & good quality...😊
The macks should be used as monitors for any purposes dj gigs,bands and etc. The qsc should be the mains because you would probably have bass bins to match up with the clear highs(all my opinion)
Qsc high reading mids but more strong as sound. Mackie's mids are little low but more bass. QSC is better for live music SRM450 v3 is better for parties.
qsc more musical. mackie is smoother, not harsh. both are great though. i'll always cut the highs and mids a little. i have the mackie srm450 v1. changing the diaphragm,, woofer and amp. i got 2 new srm450 v1s.
I cant believe how bad the mackie V3 speakers sound., I bought 4 recently for live band work after already having purchased, in the past, ver 1 and ver 2 and I have to say theyre not in the same league. Limiting much sooner than the version 1 and 2 and i think that the plastic boxes are not as dense (guess making them lighter) and hence the cabinets vibrate. Really dissapointed that mackie have used the SRM450 fame that it once had to produce a party speaker.
So I have been looking at some of the comparisons with regards to some of the more popular powered speakers such as these shown. As an audiophile somewhat , I am not terribly interested as to how loud these speakers can go, as my listening distance is no more than 20-30 feet on my patio , but more so which is the most accurate and musical of the lot. Comments and recommendations?
In my opinion, the mackie's may seem to have a little more end. However, you may want to consider Mackie's higher end speakers; the dlm 12's, which are better balanced, lighter and more powerful:)
there is no possibility of comparison k12.2 currently with Bose Model 812 , FBT ProMaxx 114a, and Yamaha DXR series ( in this price range) they are the best speakers on the market, Mackie better focus on mixers
Not familiar with the yamaha, But Mackie' are a great value and excellent sound quality. In fact, if your budget allows it, the mackie dlm 12's are even better and sound almost like studio monitor's!
I like the qsc. I own Mackie thump they are trash. I will never buy Mackie again. Qsc is built to last and it sounds twice as loud and even when you push it hard it doesn't break a sweat. Thump Bottemed out on the very first gig and I had to replace the speaker. I regret my decision for going with cheap speakers. I never use thump without sub because sound distorts when you crank the volume up and they don't handle low freq well. Since I already bought them I will use them till they break and buy good quality tops like qsc or jbl prx

Just a little help. I use Allen & Heath zed 16fx usb & 12fx usb. These mixers are for small bands not for dj'ing. I've been running both mixers for almost 5 years now. Never had an issue with either. I use Qsc k10's, k12's, k12.2's, & KW181's. As well as the JBL PRX 800 series speakers. The Allen and Heath boards really enhance the sound in all the speakers. Best wishes!
These Mackies are cheap for a reason. They have a high failure rate, look it up, tons of videos on how to replace or repair them. Don't be cheap and buy something better... QSC, RCF,
You should check out the Yamaha DZR series. I find them to be significantly better than the QSC K12.2 for only a little more $

Mackie really have stepped it up with the big dogs.

The new SRM 450 V3 is the best of the Mackie series. Long live the original king of portables
He got Mackie speakers averywhere so I have to see on what settings did he try the qsc ! That can be marketing for Mackie
Since my post, found the Mack DLM 12's to be much better balanced and more articulate;)
Definitely more crisp sound from the k 12.2s you can get subs for the k 12.2s tho

I have Mackie thumps 15s and qsc k12.2. I used it Depending on what event is.
macky is 400watts RMS,,,Qsc is 1600watts RMS,...MACKY BEST BASS AT QSC 12,2 BASS AT QSC....BAD LESS STRONG.
