Rode this model a full day a week or so ago. This is this best Indian bike I have ridden,& I've test ridden all theirtouring bikes. Plus! This model will haul ass. It's a strong competitor to the Harley Road King Special. 👍
I preferred the challenger a tad bit more because of its lean assist technology but to me the sdh is one of their sharpest looking bikes they make. Really enjoyed both
@@IronBornRider coming from a kawasaki vulcan, i had my eyes on indian for YEARS. The dark horse was a dream bike of mine, never having riding one. Harley was out of the question. I took the darkhorse for a test ride and it was the biggest let down, my dreams were crushed. My missus pushed me to try the Road King Special (I repeat, Harley was out of the question) and I bought it that day. Still to this day, the best bike I have ever ridden.
I have a 2020 Chieftain Darkhorse . But I really like the SDH they look amazing..Way. better than a Road King. Great review mate you have a new subscriber. Cheers 🥂
You're on the Indian Demo bike. I recognize the handlebars and the white sticker on the bottom right of the gas tank. The demo was at CC POWERSPORTS in Clarksville IN last weekend and I rode that exact bike. Absolutely loved it. Perfect machine! I brought it by my house and showed my wife
I saw one of these with a fairing & a thin tour pack on the back. Looked like a mini touring bike. Now im going to an Indian dealership this weekend to see one for myself 😅😅😅
I just bought one a month ago and I LOVE it! I noticed you going 60 mph in 3rd gear and seemingly not wanting to go into higher gears. Is there a reason? I’m a fairly new rider so I don’t know a whole lot about engines. I don’t know what is a good rpm for these engines but I feel like once I hit above 2500-3000 rpm it’s time to shift? Also, I got my bike with 0 miles so I’m babying it during the break in 😉
Congrats on the bike! Yeah I wanted to test the bike at higher rpm to push the bike a bit harder. You can generally shift a over 2500 rpm just depends on whether you want to cruise or ride aggressively
At 60 with the Springfield I’m usually in 4th. You can hear the engine. I have a 2016 GSXR 750 and it’s crazy how fast I have to shift on the Indian. The engine would be screaming at me if I was in 3rd at 60mph
I love this bike.. it definitely does not get the attention that it deserves.. I just wish I was bigger than 5 ft 9, 165 lb and it would be my choice for sure but I'd probably look ridiculous on it being my size. Regardless it's a gorgeous bike and definitely does not get enough attention from TH-camrs Etc..
I have a 2022 SFDH. I love it. Great handling. Great power. I have done a few mods on mine. The stock bars are decent but I went with a little taller bars and it's even more comfortable. The next big step is one that is going to piss off the purist HD and Indian owners 😂
Nice review IBR. The Springfield is an awesome bike. I definitely like the look of the dark horse on that bike. I think it’s a good platform to go to if you’re looking to go to a touring frame but you want to customize it as your own.
Definitely not too small. I'm 6'4 and you'll fit the Springfield dark horse very comfortably. Definitely my favorite out of all the heavyweights for fit
I have this exact bike and love it. Coming before this was a 2019 Scout Bobber Icon, and about 20 years before that was a Yamaha R1, so it's definitely a different beast. Took it to Port Aransas from just north of Austin not too long ago and it is a nice ride. Mine had Tab Performance exhaust and the Stage One kit already installed at the dealer, only thing I've done is put a DynoJet Pv3 programmer on it and a windshield. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
I use to likec Harley Davidson until they went full blown gay agenda. Now I liked Indian motorcycle way more. You won't catch me riding one them gay Hartley motorcycles
So, if I understand you correctly, Harley is full blown gay and Indian is just a little gay? Full blown or half blown, tough questions you have to ask yourself.

When my Road King is paid off, I may have to do a cheeky little trade-in. This thing is breathtaking
I recently tested a roadking special and I might prefer the rk over it. The rk was just so smooth but the cdh does look awesome

Love those Indian motorcycles!
They just keep getting better and better👍

Thanks! Appreciate it!
It's longer and has longer leg room than the road king. Better turning and control also
I def need to try a roadking to do a comparison.
Great review. The one common theme I noticed about the Indians, is how well they are balanced.
Thanks Bret. I agree they’re very well balanced
They are really nice bikes, I checked one out a few weeks ago, long and short I traded my scout for a chief bobber 111 and both are so smooth
Agreed. I’m a fan
I have a 2019 Springfield. Wonderful bike! Jekill & Hyde exhaust for fantastic sound, or quite discreet, if thats suitable. A press of a button.
Very cool!

The answer is YES
It is
Not a fan of the blacked out look.I wish it could be ordered chromed out with other color choices.Great review.👍
Thanks Ben! I do wish it had a little variety even in the black tone palette

I have the 2020 model. I’m 5.7 ft. / 190. It fits me to a T. But, you’re right it doesn’t get the attention it deserves
Love this bike…. Great review man, new subscriber here. Would it be a first time bike? I don’t think so.
Thanks! I wouldn’t normally recommend it for new riders for sure

lol it’s your bike. You can do anything you want. Ride safe!
Whats the next step?
@@nativeoutdoors1780 I put an FXRP fairing on it

Thanks Nick! A yeah the Springfield Is a good option if you like customizing for sure
It just does not sound as good as a Harley!
it looks like something out of the inventory of Cpt Nemo's Nautilus... cannot compete with a RKS... Nomen est Omen!
I also prefer the rk slightly over the sdh
Do they offer a batwing fairing for this?
I’d imagine there’s something out there for it.
hoping to test it soon... however, the RKS delivers 100% ridability, and looks way more refined than this clumsy copy of it...
I’m 6ft 3 inches. Is this bike to small??
No. The Springfield is not small.
If a Springfield is to small there’s probably not a bike that’ll fit you lol

It’s a great bike, wouldn’t mind having one myself
I wear size 15
Damn. Do the floor boards fit you?

Yes sublime.
