Duckar and Unimog drives from work be to the Dakar Race and race it , then drive back home and work farer !;) So history is on in build art of long live and stability !:)🖖
As a very small child, "Ente" (German for "duck" and also the local nickname for the Citroën 2CV) was the first car type I was able to recognise and able to name. It still holds a special place in my heart.
You should do an update with these same cars/bikes and drivers half way through the race and at the very end. Hear their most engaging story and whether or not they finished, this would be the next best thing to interior camera footage to document their efforts.
This is the kinda content I wish they would also post on the main Dakar channel. waste a lil less time dubbing over everything and a bit more talking to some people and showing some motor vehicles.
Love the Duckar 2CV. I took a more standard 2CV over Buttertubs Pass last weekend for an event and it was great fun (though not as fast as it felt). The simple air cooled engines and plenty of suspension travel makes for a great car for these sort of events. The uni mog is really cool, so versatile.
The 2CV has my support, i hope it makes it to the finish. My car of choice to make an attempt to finish would be an old Beetle. I might be biased because i own one :P
Why isn't there a Classic Bikes category in Dakar? I would love to see the Cagiva, Yamaha, Honda, and BMW Paris-Dakar bikes in the desert again. The Rally lost some of its magic when Dakar became brand name instead of the finish line.
@@callummclachlan4771 No bikes allowed in the Classic class. One problem is it would be difficult to speed-restrict them, after all they were removed because they were too dangerous.
I wonder, does Matt Jones know what a Unimog is? Because he called it a snow plough going up and down ski slopes, which they don't do. They can go offroad, but you don't plow snow offroad.
My mother used to drive a 2CV and a custom 2CV van when I was a young boy - I know they're a bit crap, but I love them. So much character and charm. Good luck to the ladies and their awesome Duck!
When I was a small child in the '60s, I had one of those Citroen cars. I don't recall if it was a Matchbox, or some other brand/manufacturer. I DO know that it was NOT a Hot Wheels. It was just a little thin-metal car, with narrow black wheels and tires.
The 2cv is having little torque and big wheels, which makes it efficient on sand and snow! (Not fast, but it doesn’t sink in the sand nor loose traction)
The stages are longer than 200km, right? So how does that e-bike handle the race? By recharging, or replacing the battery, from a support vehicle? Need more info on this!
Hi ! Very great :) Duckar , I think it is possible give you on Cyclone Air Filter of Vaccum Cleaner! So drilled on air intakte clean air and not high costs by ebay arriveable. Perhaps some Citroën got old Injection is able put on the 2CV6 block engine
... so by high compression of the Carburettor Aggregate is possible much power like racecar 18:1 or 24:1 . Cylindarselective Injection with cool intake valves and by a button under power pedal that said continiue injection fuel by high power need on Duckar. Why not combination of Aircooling and Watercooling without a Thermosthate Ventile . Dakar 89Q V12 Quattro simulate this true with two step Thermostate Ventile !;) Whish you good run race and Iam shure you arrive the goal of Race threw the desert Dakar with Duckar !
What's the coolest car at the Dakar Rally?
i absolutely adore that 2cv!!!
It has to be the 2CV.
The 2CV takes the win.
The legends UMM Alter, sad to not see them...
Škoda!!!!!
engineer absolutely appaled at the mention of a steel frame 😂
That was hilarious. Looked like he'd insulted his mother😂
He went like “In the name of Adrian Newey, never bring the name of that disgusting non weight saving material around me!”
Tune totally changed after that
I hope the little 2CV can make it!
Useless fact: the co-driver in that car is the sister of Tomáš Enge, the only Czech driver to ever make it to F1.
useless, but fun, at lest to me, who didnt had an idea👍kdo by to byl rekl, holky sou sikovny🤷🙋🇨🇿
Dík za useful fact!
2CV is the absolute WINNER!
What would be your dream car to buy, build and then race in the desert?
@@RedBullRally for sure a beetle with nr. 53 🐞
@@RedBullRally niva with tdi diesel
Porsche is OK ... But - 2CV is the WINNER !
Yes the 'duck' has a lot of fans
Škoda is the winter!

They don't care who ever is the media manager is absolute f00l. And has no regards and understanding what real fans want.
ive been watching the dakar a few days now and this is the first time i see the 2cv
They showed the duck in first day AFAIK
The Ladies in the 2CV , coolest in the Desert 👌🏻😎
So cool...We need this show everyday of the race !!
more videos coming soon on this channel 🐪 have you also checked out our new show on Red Bull tv? www.redbull.com/int-en/episodes/in-the-dust-s1-e2
So proud to see so many spaniards with such cool Dakar machines!!
the 2 CV team is great - fingers crossed 👍
will they finish?
@@RedBullRally I hope so.
To see team from Czech republic on dakar with 2cv is just amazing ! Držím holkám palce !
The Duckar 2CV ❤💪🍀Good luck.
Nothing but reactions of awe and amazement from me. Such good vibes going on at Dakar! Love the Duckar especially!!
Couldn't agree more!
The ladies with the 2CV are amazing.
Good luck.

Great to see Mat following the Dakar. Love to see more about all the teams and their love for the sport.
Coolest has to be the Citroen, but the most hilarious has to be the firetruck that blared jack sparrow's theme
Daughter with the Porsche sounds like she is from South Africa, really cool.
Classics are classics.
The 2CV has my support, i hope it makes it to the finish.
My car of choice to make an attempt to finish would be an old Beetle. I might be biased because i own one :P
A rally Porsche....recently sold for 3.5 million crazy seeing this car!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 959 or the safari?
I fully expected that 2CV to have a Subaru engine or something swapped in. Keeping the original engine is amazing!
didnt expect that at all😂👍zdravim holky, dobre vy👏🇨🇿👊❤️
WOW ! Awesome to see Matt at Dakar.

The classic is all lumped together. So the trucks are with the cars and any bikes.

The CV2 is my favorite by far , i hope they finish this time 🤞
By far my fave Dakar video!
Respect to the 2CV for attempting it 14 times without ever resorting to massively upgrading it.
The 2CV ladies Citroen. Would be great if they could make it till the end this time!🙃

Vive La Duckar !
🦆
Duckar is genius!
At 0:20 I see a wild ❤Skoda 120❤ behind the 2CV

We call a 2CV a "Pudle Jumper" 😂 here in Ireland 🇮🇪
El 2cv lo mejor 👏👏👏
These are the people I root for all
The common folk and the classics what fun it must be 😊
Can we talk about how great the driver of the duckcar is
Im in love
❤ 2CV 🎉
@matt jones , with the interesting parts of the race
la "dedeuch" ( 2 CV ) est la plus belle !!
Ya had me at @MattJones.
The Porsche was rad and still a dream car!
As a "American-Dutchman-Firefighter" , I'm pullin' for the Dutch Fireman's Team!
That Titanium electric bike is sick

No problem 👍

I am just amazed to hear two wheel drives are even permitted to enter the Dakar. They must be going a different route.
2 wheel drive is lighter.
Always watching from Georgetown Guyana south America 🇬🇾🇬🇾
Unimog literally means "Universalmotorgerät", "universal motorized tool", and you're surprised that it can fulfill a lot of roles?
Dakzilla 🦖
Nice energy
Great coverage.
Thanks for this cool video. 👍👍👍.
Matt Jones!
Duckcar for the win! Actually they are the winners already! And a shout-out for the artist painting it, really good work!
It's a real eye-catcher!
That song playing pink truck reminds me of the Indian trucks and their absurd horns.

The high five 😂
Love to see a short bus out there.
Fireman of the Caribbean
Slightly more interesting than F1 by a mile !
my dad used to compete in this he has passed away now but id love to go
That's amazing. How many did he take part in?
I want to see that ebike in action!
No doubt - the Duckar will do !
You skipped the Škoda! 😢
Unimogs are always my favorite
Nice and good work 👍
The guy speaking about his EV bike sounds like the actual gladiator fight organiser
You forgot to mention the great UMM Alter II, portuguese power !!!
My favourite race as a kid but Jesus I feel guilty about my emissions driving my van to Revolution bike Park 10 miles up the road! 😅
Herbie goes to Dakar. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Porsche is the coolest to me - breast cancer truck gets my respect 100%
If you'd think that a 2cv has no place in Dakar, you're not car guy.
Unbreakable!
Czech ones are craziest
2CV finished, 63th
6:50 om telolet om 😂
Cool
I'd love to see a Ford Crown Victoria at Dakar.

Disappointed that the 2CV was not a 2CV Sahara with 4x4 and twin engine setup.
mantap bang
Duck car, Dakar. Nice
35hp of pure brutality

Oh Yaaahhh
I feel sad about the Dakar’s high fatality rate 😔
Where is the rashiyan truck teem😅😅
I'm not convinced electric will be a thing in 20 years. I'm swaying more towards hydrogen for some reason.🤔
How we just gonna gloss over the 959?!?!?
Where are the 2 UMM?
Where is dakar daily updates?
Looks like the Duckar completed the rally. So you don't have to go searching like I did.
