    I like how vibram named this shoe "furoshiki." Term behind furoshiki goes back to muromachi period (before sengoku era) where people would use the ground cloth after taking a bath. But it sounds right because vibram does make mininalist shoes but many people sees it as socks. Vibram furoshiki sounds more of both socks and shoes.

      I think Furoshiki is the shoe brand & Vibram is the outsole manufacturer, but I could be wrong. How do you tell men's from women's?

    I think I would like these. Do the uppers seem a little more durable than the typical VFF’s? I’ve had 2 pair, and they fell apart within 50 miles. Trails covered in thorny branches and vines tore them up. I also didn’t like how the toes would collect dirt and sand and then they would feel too small. Plus taking them on and off was a major pain. I might have to look into these! You should see if you can get a VFF sponsorship!

    • @GokuRunner
      @GokuRunner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I havent taken them on trails. I would imagine they could probably get caught on things alot easier than vffs. I like em though and I bet you would too the only issue maybe is your toes can't splay as wide. I actually approached them a few years ago if I could be an ambassador but they declined me. Oh well.

      @@GokuRunner I really like my Merrell’s, these seem similar to them.

    That thumbnail though! 😂 I thought it was a cup or something! The shoes look like great daily wear shoes to improve foot strength, but I'd never run in them.

      Super comfy and for sure for those who like super minimalist shoes. Every time I put on something like this or VFFs I'm like man I need to do this more.

    Interesting!! I'd wear them, I'd like to try the 5 finger shoes, I just like being barefooted any way so I'm sure I'd like them

    How do these feel in regards to compression on the foot and toe splaying? Look great but also look like they compress the upper foot and don't offer as much toe box type room?

    • @GokuRunner
      @GokuRunner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually have issues with super narrow shoes and didn't have any with these. I don't feel any tightness from compression at all either.

    Hey, man, good video. I appreciate a bigger guy out there pushing minimalist running. I do want to say that I think you have one size too big. If your toe is popping out of the little painted on toe box perhaps try one size smaller and wear those for gym shoes. Thanks again for a solid video.

      Maybe so but I've gotten so many miles in them. Now on runs it doesn't as much but when I jump rope they do. Thanks for watching. Sub if you want to follow along with my journey

      i’ve had mine for about three years now and just bought a new pair. i treated them pretty rough hiking and climbing and had to superglue the back on one back together after it got caught on pole step ladder i was climbing down, and they’re still perfectly wearable. the bottom started to tear and come unattached this last summer and i somewhat successfully repaired that also. they’ll be bag shoes, or water shoes, or yard shoes now and i’ve gotten more than my monies worth by far

    • @GokuRunner
      @GokuRunner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ceaseless246 yeah I've run a ton of miles on mine plus I wear them just casually too since I don't need socks 😂 but they are holding up alot better than I expected with very little wear and tear. The sole is showing some signs but they still look practicality new

    • @mackjenkins7721
      @mackjenkins7721 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I would put these on my foot. I have like 10 - 15 pairs of the five finger toe shoes that I love wearing. The only problem that I have is with my foot being very very extremely wide with very fat wide toes my toes would barely and I mean barely will fit in the toe pockets. When my toes are in the pocket you can see my toes bulging out of the pocket. It is very obvious where my toes are sitting at when I have my fingers on.
      Sometimes it is very embarrassing cuz people just stare at my feet but then again if I was Barefooted 👣 it would still be the same thing.

    How do you feel about the toe box for this shoe? Does it provide sufficient space for your toes to spread out?

    • @GokuRunner
      @GokuRunner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't find any issue with it. I saw another reviewer said it was uncomfortable after a few miles but I've ran up to 8 miles in them and the toe box wasn't an issue for me. I pretty much live in these shoes. Check out my newer video on these shoes after 200 plus miles.

  • @mackjenkins7721

    Man I wish I could wear these shoes. I just keep hearing they are not wide toes friendly. I have extremely very very wide feet with fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. Barefooted 👣 is the way i have to go which causes a lot of problems for me especially going to the store no shoes no service which is embarrassing in front of people. It's embarrassing enough that I have people questioning me how wide is my foot & how fat and how wide my toes are & how did I get my toes to be equally straight across instead of being at a 45 degree angle like everybody else's toes are. I wish Dee's would have worked out for me. Good review sir thank you for sharing.

    First off, they look amazing! They seem well made and well thought out and, from what I could see of the inside fabric, it's too bad that it's on the inside where it's hard to see. But I'm pretty sure that my Goldilicks "just right" spot is a wee bit more plush. In the dark days when I started running, it was hard to find athletic shoes with any more cushioning than that so I have an idea of what it'd be like. I don't want mattresses on my feet but I do like to relaaaax and enjoy the ride.

    • @GokuRunner
      @GokuRunner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My pinky shoes are definitely the polar opposite of these but man I love running in these shoes plus there is the fact I don't have to find a matching pair of socks to run with them as I run in them barefoot.

  • @FiliusFidelis
    @FiliusFidelis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    hah yeah, THAT is by far the biggest drawback with the fivefingers, they are like sponges, any moisture on the ground at all and they start wicking that shit up. They are also in my view very very comfortable, don't care that people thing they are weird, my feet love them.

      Your natural foot arch is all the support you need but for sure if you're not used to running in these you shouldn't.
