- In this video I will be turning a shallow bowl made up from a lamination of purpleheart and padauk. I had some trouble turning this bowl, but with some patience I was able to finish it with good results. If you like this video please consider giving it a thumbs up and subscribing! Thank you so much for watching and have a great day!

A nice bowl Joseph I like the combination of purpleheart and padauk
Thank you very much! I think it's a nice color combination. I want to do one with padauk, walnut and yellow heart eventually. Thank you for watching! I have subbed to you channel, you have some great looking projects!
You say it;s a hot mess when you started but lit looks darned good to me! Other people may not tell whats going on when they are turning. Are you maybe going to open an E=bay shop in the future? I also see you had many views. I hope the next that views it gives ya a thumbs up!🤗
I like that profile, turned out good!
Thank you Jim! It was one of those things that just kind of came into its own unplanned 😄. But I am happy with it. Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment, I really appreciate it!
Even though it was a little bit off like you mentioned it still turned out beautiful. Well done sir

Beautiful Color combo! Subbed!
Thank you for watching and subscribing! I plan to do more multiple colored projects in the future.
Very nice this job Man. Depending of the finalizing form we can put food into it, right !
Thank you! As long as you use a food safe finish, you can put food in it regardless of the form. I used a food safe walnut oil and bowl wax on this piece. It would be perfect for fruit, nuts, even salad. Thank you for comment and for watching!
Where did you get your long worth chuck
I got the precut plywood discs from www.etsy.com/shop/CurlyWoodShop
But he seems to be no longer making them😔
The bumpers are rubber stoppers I believe I ordered from a company called WidgeCo. The hardware is 1/4"-20 bolts with washers and nuts. I 3D printed some simple knobs to make tightening easier. Thank you for your question, and thanks for watching!
Beautiful work...is it for sale?
Thank you! Yes, actually. I just haven't listed it on Etsy yet. I will update you when I do. Thanks for watching!
Do you feel the difference in wood grains as you goug?
That's a good question. It was really hard to tell with all the vibration. But when I was roughing out the outside of the bowl, I noticed the putpleheart had a tendency to chip out more than the padauk.
If I was to do it again, I would have cut the blank round on the bandsaw before mounting to a faceplate. That would have saved some time and possibly reduced vibration. Like I said in the video, I took some shortcuts that I paid for later.
Also, the different woods did sand slightly different, with the purple heart seeming to be a little harder than the padauk. Thanks again for your excellent question and for watching!
