I'm in Cali. Really enjoyed this!! Utube has truly opened up history for us in more ways than I can count. As a long time sprint car fan (first sprint car race in '76) these cars and drivers and, the Grove are here to witness. Just, amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Jan Opperman, Kenny Weld, Lynn Paxton, Bobby Allen in Big Block sprints, awesome. Funny to see all the fans and no one wearing any racing apparel, T Shirts Hats etc. Guessing it was opening day with the marching band. Pretty sure those guardrails haven't been replaced since. The Grove needs major renovations and now, Port Royal makes this place look really bad and Susky (BAPS) is catching up, Lincoln has done a good job too....Come on Grove....I've gone from 7-8 races a year to about two at the Grove...rather drive the extra 1/2 hour Sat. to Port, beautiful facility...super fast...seldom 1 groove track like the Grove often is
