The practice tests are worth the money- so glad I got them. There are free or less expensive CPC prep apps and sites, but the test questions are generally much easier than the actual exam (I tried several before I paid for the AAPC ones). The AAPC practice tests are so similar to the actual exam and the rationales are a big help as they train you to use process of elimination and other techniques to get the correct code. In addition, the format is the same so by the time you sit your exam you're very familiar with how the program runs- flagging questions, navigating the test, etc. I truly believe they were a big reason for my passing on my first try earlier this month but also a huge thank you to Victoria- your videos were so helpful and informative as well and made the whole process less stressful!

I took the CPC exam four time and still failed, I am not giving up just taking a break to brush up on some practice exams.

I failed my first exam and I think that was partly due to me not knowing I was able to skip around to different questions. The proctor was not helpful when I tried to find a question I had flagged to return to. She was foreign and I couldn’t understand her anyway. Complete nightmare. Will be retaking soon. Thank God my job paid for this. LOL
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I have abc and I’ve taken the practice tests several times and I’m still uncomfortable taking them. It’s my fault! LOL So I’ll take my time and remain calm.

I have been having trouble getting hired though, even though I have a Bachelor's degree. Does anyone have tips on how to get hired for a coding job with the certification but no experience! I feel lost and I need a job soon!

Thank you for sharing. I'm scheduled for the CBP next month. The practice exams do provide confidence. How are each section scored for the overall final score? 😊
Each question is 1 point.
Writing this after failing my 2nd attempt. My first try scored 50% and timed out. This time around I was so confident, even finished with 20 mins spare time, went back to a couple flagged questions for revisions and still scored a 62% - an improvement from 1st attempt but still so discouraging 😢 I have no medical background or job so I don’t know how else to get into this field. Any tips please ? - I’ve scored the lowest on the coding guidelines and medicine
Which ICD-10 code book do you recommend? I see one for AMA and one from AAPC. Are they esentially the same? Also, can you use an ebook version of the CPT book for yhe test?

I have a question I just saw on the aapc site they offer a coding course. Do you think that's a good course to take?
I have been taking my practice exams and have just come across fill in the blank options! Terrifying. Does that mean there will be fill in the blank on the exam?

On the new practice exams how do you get the grade if you haven't completed all 50 questions , and are the answers explained?
You are graded on whatever you submit and there is rationale after you submit it.
Since the filling in the blank is not implemented yet , is it still scored for the actual exam? And if yes does the score count?
It's only scored on the practice exams. Since there are no fill in the blank questions on the actual exam you would not be scored on questions that don't appear on your exam, only scored on the multiple choice questions that are there.

Do you have to be a member with AAPC to take the Exam? I bought the practice test without being a member.
You must be an AAPC member to take the exam and must continue to pay membership dues every year to keep any credentials.

No, it isn't that fast yet. Wishful thinking. But for a lot of people it's only a few hours.
@@ContempoCoding yeah I had mine within 4 hours or so. Will be retaking in July.
It took about 5 hours to receive my results and I just tested last month.
It’s also updated for specialty exams.🙌🏻
