@@ContempoCoding Definitely screamed 🤣 Startled my sister and my poor dog. I wasn't expecting the results to come out so quick since I took the online exam last Sun and yesterday
I just passed the CCS exam with help from your amazing tips, tricks, and tutorials! If you lived closer, I'd take you out for margaritas! Thank you, Victoria! That was no easy exam! 🙌
I am so absolutely overwhelmed in the AAPC CPC Cardiovascular Coding Chapter. Really hoping this video will clear some things up for me. I've cried on and off from this chapter.
Same...cardiovascular and musculoskeletal have absolutely frustrated me to tears.. AAPC is terrible material.. These videos have been sooo helpful but one thing I would love is if some of these videos showed the method of locating the correct code in the book rather than do process of elimination codes. Real life coding we don't have process of elimination.
Thank you for the great videos & courses you put out! They are valuable & helped me pass my CPC exam! Your clear passion for medical coding is contagious!👍
I thought I was the only one! This for me is the hardest chapter 😢 doing self paced as well and I've spent so much time trying to code the document to the point that i hit submit to understand why i am getting the CPT wrong
We're working the cardiovascular system right now in my AAPC coding course. Your videos have been a lifesaver for me. Do you have additional CV videos? I could use all the practice I can get. Thank you for posting these videos. Awesome!!
you're the best, currently studying for my 2nd attempt at the CPC exam, cardiovascular is one of my weak spots. This cleared up a lot of my confusion and helped me flag some helpful spots in my books
I'm a couple years late; but I think having the book, you, answers, question all at one time is great. I'm a visual learner, so having all at the same time is very helpful.
I started doing medical coding and billing I’m on the medical terminology part 1 learning about the cardiovascular, hematology system and blood at the moment I really want to make sure all is in my head repeatedly this is very helpful so thanks!
I'd like to ask... in the example at 24:30 of the video... How did you know the term "arteriovenous" fistula? I dont see the word "arteriovenous" in the example. How do I know this is the term I use to look this procedure up in the index? Thank you for your input!
The patient is on hemodialysis, and an arteriovenous fistula is a loop that is made between an artery and a vein (which is a procedure done frequently for patients who require hemodialysis!), so because we know the patient is needing to continue hemodialysis, we can sorta infer that its an arteriovenous fistula.
@28:45 she is saying that. -26 is needed for the professional component, but the code description has the "radiological supervision and interpretation" included. Supervision and interpretation IS a professional component. I am confused...Anybody care to explain?
Quick question on the 18:30 case study. It gets a little confusing to me. The 36245 says catheter placement in lower extremity artery branch. The question says they went through the femoral artery which is in the lower extremity. How can I become more understanding of this? Will there be codes based on where the access is? I hope that makes sense. Thank you for your videos. ❤
Around 4 minutes in the video you stated Endovascular Repair Of Transcending Thoracic Aorta but your book states Descending . Just wanted to let you know
I was provided your page like a week ago and started looking at them this evening and since I suffer from insomnia, decided this was the best time to watch. Already saw the Respiratory video where you blew the red balloon at the beginning.
I'm taking my CPC in September 2023 and This video is 2 years old I don't know if it will help cause some changes in the book. I Don't know if its ok it seems like your videos really help
I would like to get in the field of cardiology coding. I'm a already a CPC, but I'm having difficulty getting my foot in the door because I have no experience in this field. How can I get more abstract coding? How do I get medical documentation to get practice?
I am in this chapter in my studies currently and I’m absolutely drowning…way in over my head. I do not have a medical background. What would you recommend I focus on in this chapter to have it make more sense?
Interpreting operative reports for CPT code sequencing involves carefully reading the entire report to identify the primary procedure performed and any additional services or procedures that were necessary. Always sequence the codes in order of their RVU (most extensive/costly procedures first), with the primary procedure code listed first.
I'm 24 taking my CPC Exam online this month. Why do older people seem to be the majority in this field? Is it because medical coding is something people don't generally know about? Can it also be because people who are already in the medical field find out about it through being in healthcare?
Yeah it definitely gets missed on career day in high school, right? I think it's honestly one of those things they could train at tech in high school and students could legit graduate high school and be able to do medical coding. When I started out it was a lot of ladies that worked in doctor officers as assistants and then kind of fell into coding. So yeah -- people that were already in healthcare and then learned about coding.
@@ContempoCoding Update: I passed my exam! First attempt! I'm officially a CPC! Well CPC-A. Thank you for doing your videos and having this platform, you have helped me tremendously! I appreciate you! 😄
It is not something I heard about much before working in medical transcription, which I have done for 28 years. Also, with the addition of so many codes in recent years, I think alot of people were able to do it without as much formal training as is necessary now.
I can tell you from my experience: I learned about medical coding in 1990 but the market was so saturated that schools were not accepting new students. So my career made a curve into the ER as a secretary. Fast forward just a few years and now I am an empty nester with time on my hands and an unfinished goal to become a certified working medical coder.
I am taking the Aapc course i been struggling with the cardiovascular system especially the Cabg they had like 6 diagnosis on it that you had to fill in was crazy until you pointed on the icd 10 chart the and the muscle skeletal section i think my problem is i am ocd and over think everything any advise on how to break that habit i want to take my test and did the course 2 times now i am taking each section doing the aapc and feel i still dont get it. When you said don't think you know it all i think help me to stop being a perfectionist. Never again will i do self pace course
hi there, when you say you want to look over the guidelines in cardiovascular, where are the guidelines exactly? I know in ICD10 book they are right at the front then in the beg of each of the sections? Do you mean the paragraphs that are in the beginning of the sections in CPT book? For example, pericardium section has 2 paragraphs, one starting with "In order to report pericardial drainage with insertion..." are those the guidelines you are talking abt? THANK YOU!!!
Yes, you can write in your test booklet and it gets handed in at the end. They only go off the answers on the bubble answer grid, so you can scribble in the booklet itself to your heart's content. :)
ICD-10-CM is AAPC version, CPT is AMA version. You can find more information on book recommendations on this video: th-cam.com/video/dcckGrQhEYQ/w-d-xo.html
