- My first day in Addis Ababa Ethiopia and this happened. In this Ethiopia travel vlog I show my journey back to Addis Ababa Ethiopia in Africa. The plane travel on Ethiopian Airlines is intense and very long (15 hours). We stop in Lome, Togo for 1 hour and then go to Bole Airport Addis Ababa. I show the awesome Ambassador Hotel I first stay in for only $36 per night. This luxury hotel is located in the Bole area of Addis Ababa. I had a pleasant stay there and will definitely stay there again when I come back. Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!

Just came back from Addis Ababa 2 weeks ago. Loved the whole experience. As a black American I recommend my people to travel to east africa because most of us just go to west africa if we go.
Can you explain in detail how was your experience? Would you stay there for six months to a year as black American?
@@AstralNomics yes it was overall nice experience. I would love to stay for 6 months or a year, I think it would be fun. There is a language barrier at times because a lot of them don’t speak English, but luckily my wife is Ethiopian so she did most of the communication. The locals have a lot of love and respect for our people. Music is good, culture is good. There is tribalism but of course me and you are not in that fight. Weather is amazing. Transportation is cheap, and the food is cheap so you can literally eat out everyday because the food is healthy. Elevation is high but your body will adjust overtime. Hope that helped you out a little.

From airport - Ambassador is like 1.6 or something kilometers. Which will cost you 150ETB maximum

I myself will be coming to Addis Ababa in late November for a 3-day layover before eventually proceeding to Dubai, UAE. Did they still require you the proof of a recent RT-PCR test upon your arrival in Addis Ababa (in addition to the proof of full vaccination)?

Over all good introduction to the city. Also the cap fair was a little high. One thing though, as you left the immigration check at the airport, you kind a talk down at us. It sound like you were talking to your American friends as you put us in a box like, this 3rd world countries.....? Every body knows you went to Ethiopia, no need to call as in that manner. I agree we need a better flow at the check out counter in the airport , I am just saying there is a better way of saying it. I am sure you know that most of your clicks will come from Ethiopians. We are a very proud people so please keep that in mind. I am hoping for a wonderful journey for you.

I'm sure he didnt mean it maliciously but yeah it was kinda weird bc a lot of American airports (Newark & JFK especially) have issues with disorganization. I can't tell you the amount of times I've faced this in American airports.
