For your next loom check out a 4 shaft or 8 shaft Ashford. Also portable. I promise you that once you get hooked on weaving you won't be satisfied until you get something that will give you the ability to make intricate designs. I was going to get a RHL when, after 50 years of crocheting, I lost the feeling in my left hand. Instead I found a 4 shaft floor loom. I am in love. In 2.5 years, I have made 32 towels, 3 sets of placemats and runners, a wool blanket, and 3 wool scarves. My loom is 36 inches wide. Last summer I made the leap and bought an 45 inch 8 shaft loom. Both looms were made by LeClerc. Granted are neither are portable but I am homebound and I rarely travel beyond my grocery store. BUT the 4 and 8 shaft Ashford or Schacht is portable!! Whichever you choose HAVE FUN!!
Thank you for the comment! It seems when you start weaving it grows into a bigger production and I actually cannot wait to look into larger ones when the time comes. I cannot think of anything more fun then weaving except for perhaps spinning and then weaving to a final project. I love our fiber arts community. We are in a class of our own! It’s a pleasure to meet you and thank you!
My friend who got rheumatoid arthritis turned to weaving after taking more and more breaks from knitting. ❤ She got to make a baby blanket for her youngest that she had
Hi Dina, you did great! I've been playing with the idea of a RH loom for a looooong time and still have not taken that leap! I bought a 20 inch "knitters loom" that was HUGE and returned it because it was so heavy I'd never be able to use it. I have a kit I bought on Etsy and the shop owner is a fantastic weaver, we have talked back and forth several times and I finally felt like I could do it but still haven't bought a loom lol. I really need to just get this one, it looks perfect for me. I also bring my old lady bags of crochet, knitting and whatever else with me and I buy more stuff wherever I go too. Thanks so much for sharing! I need to get my loom and upload a video, I can link yours too if you want. Xo, Mimi AKA "The Cozy Fox"
Hi Mimi! Thanks so much! Have you considered the 16 inch? That might be a very happy medium for you! Thank you so much for your comment and encouragement!
Omg thank you! Being a lifelong crocheter I put off knitting for so long. If I would’ve known that it wasn’t as hard as I thought, I would’ve done it way sooner! So your comment made me smile, thank you so much, doll! You will be obsessed. You will absolutely love it and it will become one of your babies. 🤗
@@Fiberluxeco I am sure it will be my new obsession! I just don’t know how to do things a little bit. I have also decided to start growing, spinning and making yarn from cotton this year too. I think weaving will be my main thing for a while, but is also crochet, knit, sew, and about a million other crazy hobbies. Keep up all the great work, and enthusiasm. And thank you for sharing yourself with us. You are an inspiration. ❤️
@@Chickmamapalletfarm yes, longing for the same. My hope is that spinning will be a future undertaking. Growing the fiber all the way to the final product would have to be the most rewarding thing in my opinion. Great luck with that one! That would be a dream. On a fiber jewelry making kick for the last few years and love it. Thank you for your lovely comment!
