I'm a graduate of North Shore and I was in the band. I was going down the list of the results and I watched every single band on TH-cam. This was DEFINITELY one of my favourites. My very first time watching this show I got chills and it was crazy. The band sounds SO AMAZING and and this show deserved better than 38th for sure. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come in the future!
It is very hard to watch this as a student who marched in this show. Now that this season is over and this show is done, it hurts. Yes, the process was hard but every time I watch this, I cry and wish I could turn back time, just for one more practice. One more performance.
You marched in this? I need to say this, I loved this show so so much! I saw it when you performed at the Alice HS game (which is my home town) and also over at the UIL contest. Seriously, I was in tears at the end and my friends were making fun of me 😂 I wish your band the best of luck for this next marching season!
Jasper The Wolf thank you so much! Our season so far is going great and I hope yours is as well! I hope you guys go far as well! I love You guys’ show this year! I can’t wait to see you perform soon! (I know we already saw it but I want to see it again!) good luck to the rest of your season!
Alexei Hyouu oh, yeah 😅 that first performance of our show we did in Laredo wasn’t so great. I’m so glad you like it though, this is our first time working with props, body movement, and all that stuff. It’s really fun. Also I saw your show from this year on TH-cam, it’s amazing!! 💙
I saw this band at state and Y’all were one of the best bands that I saw at state y’all deserved to make it to finals this show was absolutely amazing I wish the best of luck in the future
Fun Fact: During this show the vocalist was both sick and had a broken microphone. Even then, you can faintly hear her over the ENTIRE BAND! Amazing? I think so.
The entire show is based off of the Video Gam “Ori and the Blind Forest” with Music by Gareth Coker. Of course not all movements are from the game, but the inspiration was drawn from it!
This was one of my very favorite shows at boa San Antonio. From dfw and had only heard of Alexander peripherally. From a marching standpoint I can see why you didn’t make finals because of difficulty. However, there should be an audience enjoyability score. I am a former music major and can judge harshly. I just thought your overall effect and musicality were outstanding. Probably my top 5 favorite shows in 6a this year. As far as relating to audience and emotional connection, Alexander is right there with Vista Ridge this year.
We are all so proud of this amazing band! YOU GUYS WENT TO STATE!!!! I love how you guys can really tell a story! Such and amazing performance and I can’t wait to see it again! We love you Jesse!! 💛💙 GO BULLDOGS!!!!
Thank you for your compliment. John B. Alexander does not perform for the sake of impressing judges - we perform for sending a message and we are proud to say that based on all the tears that were shed in the audience from our numerous performances - we did just that. Trophies are materialistic - messages and meaning are eternal.
That is silly. Their theme absolutely did not harm them at all. It was emotional and fantastic and they did a superb job. People are now talking about the Alexander band. I'd say that the theme got people talking and that's good.
I think the environmental theme added that dynamic to the show since in addition to the music and the drill, there was room to add things without damaging the integrity. I Loved all the shows since its STATE, they are usually all great but this was one of the few that brought you into that world and acting from the guard and the vocalist was pretty damn good too.
I don’t think Judges will penalize you because they didn’t like the show, that’s your preference btw, What the judges WILL penalize you for is if you mess up on marching, playing, or color guard/props etc
Gracias, gracias y mil gracias. Los amo. GO Daphne!!! We Love U!!! #thepriceofprogress #blueandgoldforever #pawsup 💛💙🎺🎷🥁😘💕
Best show!
Amazing show! Cried every time I watched it!
I’ve rewinded that ballad hit at 6:45 easily over 20 times. So beautiful.

Out of all of the shows I saw that day, this one had the most heart and had the most emotional impact. Y’all represented Area G well.
Every time I watch out performance it makes me emotional
Didn’t even go to this school and I can agree
Same
I just don't understand how this could get 38th, this is great. Wonderful job guys
Music from Ori and the Blind Forest in 5:50? Amazing
This Leander family was absolutely enthralled with this band’s performance at BOA San Antonio. Many tears were shed! Just a lovely show all around.
I saw yalls performance in Laredo in the Area G and I fell in love with the show I wish yall luck next year at pigskin
Love from McHi Band

Awesome show!! Thanks for sharing
What musical pieces are being used in this production?

At 6:00, its a version similar to a track from the videogame called Ori and the Blind Forest. The name of the track is " the spirit tree " iirc

Love the performance but wow alexander loved their hourglasses
God tier
Mr.Martinez is the best band director
For sure! He's made two bands go far already, can't wait to see what he does this year!!

The show about corporate greed got 38th, go figure
Your BAND deserved to go to finals!!! GREAT SHOW!!
I think it’s crazy to think that in 2 years I will be doing that this is really sentimental
THE DRUM MAJORS ARE SOOOOOOOOO GOOOD 👏👏👏👏 OML
Anotheruser ikr
By how great your performance is, I am now questioning the judges and their judgement of your show.
We are all so proud of this amazing band! YOU GUYS WENT TO STATE!!!! I love how you guys can really tell a story! Such and amazing performance and I can’t wait to see it again! We love you Jesse!! 💛💙 GO BULLDOGS!!!!
That high school is at the city where I live
Yo this show is SO good, I can’t believe they only placed 38tb.
Does anybody know the intro solo flute song or from which movie it is
Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46: I. Morning Mood by Edvard Grieg
#teamtrees needs to see this
Not enough trombone but y'all sound nice anyway. I wish y'all the best of luck next state year.

Great performance. I believe that your environmental theme harmed you.
