    I have a 2007 S80 V8 AWD. I've had it for 3 years. I didn't know how to turn the damn dstc off until now.😂 Thank you!

    HUGE help! Thank you! My ABS system needs service. Waiting for parts and still need to drive the car. It wouldn't go above 5mph. Thanks again!

    I really appreciate this info mate from the day I bought my Volvo the dstc has been off and i didn't know how to get it back on. And wasn't to bothered about it. But when we had the snow the other day I really needed it.
    So what I found myself having to do was. Go to manual mode and move off in 3rd. 😂
    But in my other Volvo which is a manual you just press a button.
    Happy days. 👍🏿

      @ I love my volvo's but with all this technology that the keep on ramming into cars it's beginning to scare me..
      Well scare my pocket 😂 sensor for this sensor for that.

      @@zigzag7194 yeah, first week after purchase I had to changed three different sensors. One of them was SAS. It's quite easy and with modul from D5T5 not that expensive 😊

    Just purchased a 2009 S80 T6 AWD from a friend and have really been appreciating your videos! Regarding DTSC, any tips or tricks regarding the system saying "Maintenance Required" more frequently? It comes and goes, and I have noticed that generally it pops up when it's hotter. Should I be prepared to shell out the big bucks to fix this? Thanks for any help!

      A lot of DSTC messages are caused when the individual signals from the tone tone rings on the wheels are lost or corrupted. This can be caused by a ring, sensor, wiring or wheel bearing failure, but also by dust and stones.
      It shouldn't be an expensive fix to be honest, check the sensors first, then take a look at the axle rings next :)

    I thought traction control should get you unstuck more easily.

    • @drivelife.channel
      @drivelife.channel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what it is designed to do but it can make you lose momentum in certain situations because it cuts power :)

      @@drivelife.channel Thanks for the info. I don't have traction control on my car as it's older but I always thought you turn it off just to drift.

      @@simtu251 It is often best in snow and sand to not have traction control cutting the power sometimes momentum is king. We are not referring to driving down the road in bad weather, rather booting it up a hill or along a beach.

      @@simtu251 The wonderful Landcruiser also has a hidden traction control even when you think its off it not. This is why many say its crap on an Australian beach. Its just a pissing about making sure its completely off, when it is it will keep spinning and not bog down. At least with the Volvo its relatively easy to turn it off. Its much better with a dedicated button like many 4x4s. Have a great day.

    mmmmmm doughnuts. Oh and when its snowing and it does not power back.
