This is a day I'll never forget. This was after it had ran through my house and neighborhood on Bell Road between Blue Springs and Dalton Pike. To see what it actually looked like brings tears to my eyes. So thankful my family was ok and the people in my neighborhood. And very thankful to all the uniforms and citizens that came thru that night to check on everyone.
Omg I lived on the first house on Bent oak trail. And I was only a baby when it hit. I lived with my mom and Grandparents. They were hiding in their closet with me. There were trees caving into the ceiling. I was a baby and I don’t remember that many things of it but it was probably gonna be the biggest tornado I’ve went through at such a young age
I remember this tornado literally hopped over my house. There was unspeakable damage from half a mile in front and half a mile in back of my house. Will never forget that night huddled in the hallway.
I finally figured out where this video was taken. It was on the bridge over the railroad track on Stuart Rd east of the YMCA before you get to Michigan Ave Rd. Your looking Southeast and your looking across the Old Beaty's Feed. You would be looking towards Michigan Ave School and Park View School and 64 Hwy.
@RKwjV He was on Stuart Rd east of the YMCA before you get to the traffic light at Michigan Ave Rd and Stuart Rd. He's sitting on the bridge over the railroad tracks looking over Beaty's Feed.
This tornado was similar to the Rowlett Tx tornado Christmas of 2015. THat one too was at night and was only lit by powerlines and lightning. I live in NW Houston (Cypress,TX) and the only tornado we had was a fast mover during Harvey which went past our apartment. I feel for yall when it comes to the scariness of tornadoes.
Which tornado? Cleveland was hit by 5 that day...the first one hit just after 8 in the morning and they went on all day and into the night. It was horrific! 9 people lost their lives.
That day was the worst ever. You couldn't see the tornadoes because they were either rain wrapped or at night. The day started at 8:30 or 9 that morning and didn't end till over 12 hrs later. Then it was trying to get help to everyone. Of all things, the last time we had multiple tornadoes to hit Cleveland was April 3rd of 1974. That too was in the same states in the area known as Dixie Alley.
I almost died in this tornado. I was 5 and at my grandparents house near Michigan Avenue. The tornado knocked multiple trees inside our house scariest day of my life
This is right after that tornado tore through my neighborhood, on the other side of 64 Bates Pointe Subdivision, such a scary day turned into an even scarier night!
This still brings me so much fear, the amount of damage done to our roads was unbelievable. There was a house off of Dalton Pike that was completely obliterated, still unsure if they were safe or not.
Me either. It completely tore apart some ppl I go to church with house. Their little boy who was probably 3 or 4 at the time was so scared to go outside after that.
When you realize your city has been hit by an EF4 before. We were sheltered in an apartment. thankfully all the tornadoes from that day stay the hell away from us. I think this is like the 2nd tornado that touched down here that day
I was 7 when this happened, we lived right next to bates pike it was the round right beside our round. I went to Taylor elametry and my mother ran red lights just to get us safe but it destroyed a lot of my neighbors house's ripped half of the entir house we had a little damages but we were ok. the amount of Cleveland has taken during that hoard disaster was very critical and sad. holly we do not get any thing like this ever AGAIN
I was 10. We lived on Durkee Road just a few houses up from Spring Place. We were spared tremendously even though those around us lost everything. I went to Oak Grove.
My wife and I stood on our front porch in Old Fort and watched this tornado above the tree tops. She said is that a tornado. I said yes. The next day we found out that it had come within 150' of my sister's house and did all kinds of damage to trees but just minor damage to her house.
my friend is in Tennessee right now she is not gonna be back until the 12th of July or earlier so if anyone knows when there will be a tornado again plz tell me because I am really scared and I don't wanna lose my best friend
You expected someone to tell you when a tornado was going to hit? Do you even know how tornados happen? You DONT know when they will happen. No one can tell you the exact time. It happens when it happens. No one knew that night exactly was going to happen.
I heard it from my house. Still have nightmares about it. I was in the neighborhood right next to it! Could probably have seen it if not for the hill and trees
I️ remember this, I️ was right in the middle of it, In kindergarden, Right before it started my dad picked me up. That’s was my elementary school, A big tree got knocked down but we where ok.
ChalkTalkTV It certainly did. NWS Underrated it. Take a look at Cherokee Valley Rd. well built houses were completely leveled and debris swept off the foundations.
Ah Yes..I was 8 years old..going to Blue Springs at the moment..First tornado on my life amd it took down my whole school and my power for 2 weeks..Very scary..i will never forget that night..Driving through Cleveland wasnt fun the next day..seeing all that stuff and seeing my school tore down like it was a rag doll... scary scary scary.
You have that right...there's not enough money in the world to properly pay these folks for what they do...and too many people just take it for granted. As a former volunteer storm spotter...it's dangerous but fun...but you need to be an adrenalin junkie to do it.
respect for rescue emt's and firemen is a given, respect for law enforcement, not so much, but cops are different, they just break the law and make it their own.

Wait a second. I live on the street over!
And my mom says she remembers the radio saying find shelter now
I remember this tornado literally hopped over my house. There was unspeakable damage from half a mile in front and half a mile in back of my house. Will never forget that night huddled in the hallway.

It was right over our house lives were lost that day devastated Cleveland Tn, the smart remarks are not needed.
That was a night that I will not forget
I live off Dalton Pike and it obliterated my house. We missed it by five minutes as my family was going to a friends house to take cover.
Tornadoes at night are a nightmare to begin with, not knowing where’s it’s going.

This is right after that tornado tore through my neighborhood, on the other side of 64 Bates Pointe Subdivision, such a scary day turned into an even scarier night!
Is that the neighborhood as you pass Oak Grove School just before you get to the 3 way stop of Minnus Rd? And yes that was a scary day and night.
Yep, that's the one! There is a big ol' sign, can't miss it even though a lot of people do when they come to visit lol.
Wow. I live in one of the rebuilt houses now off Bates Pike. This is insane.
you got it. I was getting hammered by hail trying to keep people from driving into the storm that way.
This still brings me so much fear, the amount of damage done to our roads was unbelievable. There was a house off of Dalton Pike that was completely obliterated, still unsure if they were safe or not.
I saw live in Athens, TN I was so scared at 2011
I'll never forget this day!
Me either. It completely tore apart some ppl I go to church with house. Their little boy who was probably 3 or 4 at the time was so scared to go outside after that.
Oh no! I hate to hear that! :(( I hope he's doing better. Although I was on the other side of town. To this day I still freak out.
When you realize your city has been hit by an EF4 before. We were sheltered in an apartment. thankfully all the tornadoes from that day stay the hell away from us. I think this is like the 2nd tornado that touched down here that day
you were filming it hitting my house ive wanted to see what it looked like
You have to have major respect for the law enforcement, rescue,EMT's and firemen who have to be out in this mess.

My friends 8 month old little brother and her aunt died in this tornado
my friend is in Tennessee right now she is not gonna be back until the 12th of July or earlier so if anyone knows when there will be a tornado again plz tell me because I am really scared and I don't wanna lose my best friend
For one thing no one knows when a tornado is going to hit.
You expected someone to tell you when a tornado was going to hit? Do you even know how tornados happen? You DONT know when they will happen. No one can tell you the exact time. It happens when it happens. No one knew that night exactly was going to happen.
I live right off Bates Pk. That day was the scariest day of my life.
Dang my dad he was dispatching the tornado and hit our house almost my papaw ran as fast as sonic to get in :(
I was a dispatcher too. As a matter of fact, that's me you hear on the radio in the background.
That was the one that caused most of the damage and all of the fatalities.
This was a scary day. It felt like a real life Night of the Twisters.
That was the scariest day eva!!!!! The tornado pasted my apartments like really
But why was this shown on our local news channel?
I was in Athens TN at the time
It did EF5 damage in Ringgold Georgia...
+Wildinho Almost...not quite
ChalkTalkTV It certainly did. NWS Underrated it. Take a look at Cherokee Valley Rd. well built houses were completely leveled and debris swept off the foundations.
If memory serves, the homes were not bolted down properly or as well as they could have been which prevented the higher rating.
D: i remember this. I live in Cleveland to and guess what? My 2 best freinds were killed
I was there in Cleveland Tennessee and I remember that Tornado.Worst tornado in TN
Really sad that Cleveland got hit again once on April 3, 1974 by an F3 and April 27, 2011 by an EF4.

Disrespectful
