  • Carolina, age 28, has been a hip disarticulate amputee since she was a toddler. Any attempts she had made to wear a prosthesis in the past failed. Carolina traveled to POA from Bogota, Colombia hoping to finally find a socket system that would allow her to walk confidently without crutches. She accomplished that and more! Within days, Carolina's confidence grew as she first learned to walk and then progressed to walking up and down ramps and stairs with ease! During her last few days at POA we took her outside and Carolina was able to walk up and down sloping and uneven ground/grass. Our HD prosthetic system has been redesigned; silicone is now fused directly onto the socket interface, creating a secure and comfortable fit.
