This is interesting! You explained exactly how TCKs feel throughout their lives. My parents are very conservative South Korean and there were so many conflicts with them. If the parents don't recognize the possibilities of cultural differece, consequently, disasters can happen 😂 For the peace and happiness of family, and to avoid the potential problems, I hope the parents understand their children can have different cultural identity when they are raising children abroad.

I stumbled upon this whilst looking into TCK stuff and I have to say that this really opened my eyes and very articulately puts into words the roots of the identity crises I've been trying to navigate lately. This was truly a wonderful resource.

Thank you Brandon! I have created TCK related material for a long time, not only videos but also courses. Just let me know if you have a question that you want me to answer in a future video!

Love the comment about “never having ownership” of any culture. I am mixed race and grew up in 6 countries. I always said that I have been a visitor most of my life, and even as an adult, still feel this way even in my now “chosen home”.

Thank you Aquarius! - Which countries have you lived in? We will soon be uploading a few online courses for TCKs just so you know ; )

Im an immigrant in a western country and could kinda understand where you are coming from. Must be painful.
Myself personally I dont agree with things in my culture and not all Western concepts. Im somewhere in the middle of conservative and liberal but feel like I have no friends

Hi Shiro! Thanks for the comment and apologies for the late reply. It's hard to be stuck in between two very different worlds, with different ideologies. Take comfort in the fact that it makes you a more well-rounded person.
May I ask where you come from and where you live?
