My favourite place to camp is Burra Creek Gorge. Yes we have always called it that or Worlds End. So your two variations combined. We have camped up there for about thirty years now, I am a tent camper. 😊. I just love the beautiful old trees with their massive trunks. Thanks for current view.
I googled how to find the age of those gum trees while there looking at them. If you measurer the circumference one and a half metres up from ground level, for each cm around it represents a period of their life. I didn't have a tape measure that was suitable🥲
Me thinks (as I have with many of your vlogs) you could pay all a holiday costs with photographs from them. Add in Sally's craft 🤑🤑🤑 This time the gums - trees (" if only they could talk!!) OMG also the reflections and sky💙 Thank you Jan Adelaide
Went from Morgan to Jamestown a few weeks ago, wow that road is so smooth could put a full mug of coffee on the dash and it wouldn't spill over, but if I did try that a damn Roo would jump out in front...BRAKES... just had one hit the left front door 24 Klms South of Forbes about 4am last Sunday ...Grrrr
Thanks, Mick Hope Sally had a great time at the show. I just watched (gone rustic) on u tube. It featured a fabulous look at Tassie and the quilt show there as well. ❤
Thanks for posting another great vid of SA camp spots. Burra Gorge is also one of our faves to stay at. Matter of fact, even caught sight of us camping there that weekend in the drone footage.
Of course I watched this when it first came out, but it was on my tv so couldnt comment. A lovely spot, Ive seen you camp here before.🙂 Sally, Im sure your quilting workshop was great but as a stitcher Id like to see the piece youve been sewing thats in the intro, any chance? 🤔 Cheers Cheryl
The piece that you have mentioned has been given away as a gift but we do have a photo of it. I will try to put it in the next video that will be on TH-cam this coming Friday at 5:00pm. The piece mentioned is a Christmas Advent Calendar.😀
Beautiful Mick. Pleasantly surprised at how picturesque it there. It's amazing how a wet spell can transform the landscape. Your quality work with the camera certainly helps. Thank you for sharing.
My wife children and my wife's cousin and her husband were just there for a day trip last Saturday 14th of September. I was going to send you a chat about that awesome spot
Top resting location for foot exploration. Not sure about that new gate baring entry...must be land owner on edge of reserve. You missed the iconic photo opportunity of the old homestead, photographed and became Cover photo for Midnight Oils Album location just out of Burra along side the Barrier Highway.. Still was a relaxed video for us to enjoy...thank you.👍
What a pretty spot to stay when Sally was away!! I noticed a dog running free at the 11.44 mark & was surprised that they would be allowed to do that or do people just turn a blind eye!! I would have run the drone over the fence to see what was on the other side out of curiosity. as it did all look on the rather new than old look. 😆
It is a pretty spot fore sure. Dogs that roam free are all good and well until something goes wrong making it hard for other dog owners who restrain their dogs in these areas.
Hog wash bend ive spent my childhood holidays there its a beautiful place probably easier getting into there these days with new roads put in there i guess
The last time we walked beyond where that gate is was 22-9-2013. Then you could walk to the "water fall" about 1km further along. At that point there was a keep out private property sign telling you to go no further. The "Waterfall" is a rocky rapid type of place. It seems to me that at some time some idiot did some damage by driving a 4X4 up there resulting in the gate being installed.
It is a shamed that one or two who do not do the right thing can take things away from so many others. It would be such a great attraction to the area if the walking trail was able to be used without issue👍
We have purchased from the Morgan Bakery on more than one occasion and never had anything that that wasn't to our liking. Country Bakeries seem to be able to make anything taste so good👍
Hello Mick, Merci pour la vidéo. Si j'ai bien compris, il fut impossible d'accéder à la partie la plus haute de la colline? Était-ce obligatoire de faire des allers et retours, ou un parcours formant une boucle était-il possible? A bientôt, JPhB.
It was possible to go the the highest part of the hill if you were keen enough for the climb. It was basically a one way up and same way back, no loop route but still very pretty to come back the same way🙂
Burra Creek Gorge has been ruined by utube and facebook too many people going there ,i like live in Morgan that was a favorite camping spot not now though .
The internet in general has made these locations more well know to people, that can't be denied. Camping books like Camps Australia Wide as well as the digital WikiCamps apps has also increased the awareness of such locations. Bringing more traffic to these sort of places has it's downfalls, unfortunately not everyone will always do the right thing and that spoils it for others who appreciate the beauty of the area. When people visit these locations it also brings in money to the local community which must be a benefit to the business people in those communities. Australia is a great place to holiday in and it needs to be shared equally with everyone👍
As a teenager at school our family spent many a day out there, roaming the hills and spending time in a couple of bigger water holes. There were few fences those days. Some of the fencing is likely due to motor bikes playing rough out there too. We could walk right up to the springs that are the source of the water supply. Another very well done video mate.
Nice piece guys. Thanks, a beautiful spot.
We love it there during the winter, not so good in the summer.

Wildlife are not very well educated when it come to the road rules. Hope it didn't cause you too much stress and worry after the event.

Sally did have a good time in Burra with all of the quilting ladies, never know she may do a quilt show when we return to Tassie in the future🙂

Glad you liked the video. SA has so many great spots to camp at, as Australia as a whole has🙂
I love those beautiful gum trees ❤
The old gum trees are something to be seen, would love to know the age of some of them.
That is a pretty place to camp at. Sally’s quilting looks pretty interesting, if you get a chance show more of it.
Will try to show some more of Sally's quilting when the next opportunity arises👌
Beautiful spot
We think so🙂
Great video on the area. I didn't realise it was so stunning up there, so thanks for your great work once again.
When it is green it is stunning🙂

Sealed road to the camping boundaries, it doesn't get any better.

G'day Mick & Sally. Interested to hear more about the Morgan Bakery, did you order a meat pie?
Hope they make a egg and bacon pie 🥧 😋
