Thank you Sara for showing these little more detailed parts of a project. So much more helpful then “apply the grout and wipe off”!

Thank you for showing the process! I'm a newbie and had the same grout issue when using the dry method. I would accidentally pull up the grout or damage it. Especially when the pieces are all different depths! I'm going to try the damp sponge next. And I love the pot!

My pleasure Sara. Looks so beautiful, love it and very neat work with the grout as well. If you want to you can seal the inside of the pot before you begin mosaicking and then the grout will generally wipe off, you can also tape it off as well as another option. You can also use two colours of grout on the same pot, very easy to do and l have created a video on the process if you want to have a look. I love grouting as well, again really beautiful mosaic. 😊

It turned out beautiful. You could maybe add a toothbrush to your tools. You could have used one to clean out the textured area on the cross while the grout was still wet. I love the flowers you put on the back.

It’s beautiful Sara! I have been wondering if we could try using more than one color of grout in different places? I’ve seen a few pieces on TH-cam where more than one color grouting is used and it looked really nice. Grouting is so messy and I don’t love it but it has to be done. Hahaha! I don’t love the dry method either. I find using gloves is awkward for me. I want to use my bare hands. Maybe Try a little rubbing alcohol and q-tip on the cross??? It worked for me!

I love your pot, but why would you use the cross on his forehead? Is there a meaning behind it? But great job

I keep saying porcelain tiles and I mean ceramic.

Where do you get your tile supplies? I would like to try this myself but as a newbie have no idea where to source materials inexpensively

Couldn't you have used both grouts? Use the gray for the skull portion of the mosaic and switch over to the alabaster of the rest of the pot.

I think so. Never tried it but why not right.
