Home, sweet home. I miss it so much. So many happy days there. Been gone 32 years and still miss it. My Dad and Uncles built a lot of the town. My grandparents rest in Bellevue cemetery as do my folks, uncles, aunts, friends. My roots are deep, but I just can't do those winters. Remember Tomboy, the all girl band from the 80's? That was us. Amazing memories. ♡
Another solid unboxing video. Curious - could you do a video on the music scene in Omaha? I know the Indie Rock scene and the Surf scene had some strong contributions from Omaha, but I would love to learn more from a local's perspective.
@mecha.electroma Thanks for the kinds words. I can sure try but I may not be able to do it justice. I can do some research and see if I can find someone who may be able to give a better insight on our local music scene. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Where are you from?
@@DavidMatney Thanks - and I def understand. Some of the best acts I've come across from Omaha are in music scenes that are deliberately focused on being underground, so it's kind of an enigma but thought I'd ask. I'm in Boulder, CO now but I grew up in Salina, KS.
It is on the trail that is made of wood decking. It really doesn't stand out or look any different from any other tree except for a placard that says it is a really old tree. If you have a chance to take your son to Tree Rush Adventures do so because he will have a great time.
Sorry……..to “heck” with Bellevue. I lived in Old Towne. Lived right down the street from the log cabin. Depressing, harassment by cops all the time, (I’ve never had a problem until I moved there) a lot of people that are “trapped” there because they can’t afford to move out of there. I got to meet a lot of people there and most I don’t trust (sorry). Moved back to Omaha. I lost ALL FAITH in that area. I have had more bad luck there than in my life. The crime rate in Bellevue is AOT more than what is stated. Old Towne is the ghetto of Bellevue. I DO NOT recommend living there. You’re better off in LaVista, Papillion, Omaha, I can go on. The housing market is soo over inflated in old towne. Cheaply built houses. Most were built for the Martin people roughly in the early 1940’s except north of Mission. A good 1/3 do NOT have basements to the South of Mission. Anything on Bellevue Blvd is going to be costly. The new construction areas are better but usually Offutt people own them and usually bought and sold constantly because of deployment. Hyda Hills was hit by a tornado in 2017. You also had the flooding in Bellevue back in 2019 which destroyed part of Bellevue. The city council is a “good ole boy” system. I never felt welcome there. It was very trashy in Old Towne despite them trying to “update” that area. Heck my sister lived in the Blackhawk subdivision and had problems with kids that were into “gangs” and would break into cars in the area. She and her husband got smart and moved to Papillion
nice place ...BUT... One if the highest property taxed counties in the United States. Was once a nice little town, but now apartments and car washes EVERYWHERE! The city planner genuises installed man hole covers in the right side lane ...so you'll be replacing your right front wheel bearings a few times. potholes everywhere thats not under construction. Car registration & taxes are INSANE! Omaha has historically had a transient population so don't expect that "friendly Midwestern hospitality". People are kinda rude generally speaking. They love the huskers...but they s*ck most of the time. Public schools are nice...but getting liberalized. Stay outta Nebraska medical center. you most likely won't make it out. the staff went woke. other than that...rock on.

I’m living in NE Omaha since 1995. I raise my family and I’m not regret it. ♥️ NE

More like this please.
Anything in particular?
@@DavidMatney yes! Where are the hot spots the locals enjoy? Hidden gems in the area? Recurring festivals (apart from Husker Football games).
@@ACMonster42 Thank you, great insight. I appreciate the feedback.
Beautiful video. I need to find that historic tree. Im taking Toronto warnings seriously from now on.
