How exactly did you sand it down? Because I have a couple really crap glass dip pens that couldn't write out of the box. I tried sanding them down, but the ink somehow gets caught right at the bottom of the pen but won't flow down onto the page... Maybe I just need to sand them down even further? I have no idea what to do now. I'm about ready to give up on these and go to Goulet Pens to buy a new one which I know will write...
Hello, If you are sanding flat on the tip then you are probably blocking the little paths that drive the ink down. Try sanding around the sides in a way that you are sharpening to a point. Kind of like a pencil tip but if yours didnt write straight from the box it may be that the paths are defective and it might not be fixable. Mine was writing fine until I broke the tip but the paths were intact.
@@shirley.illustrates Okay, thanks! I think I did that in the beginning, but ended up having to shorten is as well...I will try again--nothing to lose at this point! If it still doesn't work, I'll just buy a brand new one from the Goulet Pen Company.
Hi, I bought a new glass dip pen(the longer one) and i accidentally chipped the tip of it and would like to know how to fix it. Should i sand it down?
