- The three victims of the UNLV shooting - Patricia Navarro, 39, Cha Jan Chang, 64 (also known as "Jerry"), and Naoko Takemaru, 69 - were all professors, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office. Our Jhovani Carillo tells us more.
I took Prof Jerry Chang's class twice (once because I dropped out early due to failing the first test). I met him in his office several times for help in the class in order to pass. I can tell you, this man was one of the smartest people I've ever met. His classes were difficult and he demanded a lot from his students. Its hard to believe he had any enemies. He's part of the reason that I went on to get a M.S in Supply Chain and be successful in my life. He was a good man.
"His classes were difficult and he demanded a lot" says a lot about the man...perhaps he was difficult and demanding to be around and thus rubbed some people the wrong way. NOT saying that warranted him getting killed at all but to say he won't have had any enemies is just not true. Academics are some of the worst, most back-stabbing, two-faced people out there - again NOT all but a lot of them are so just because you were a student of his doesn't mean that he didn't have a mean streak.
The three professors wasn't his enemy.They did not socialize or know him .🕊️🕊️🕊️🌾🌾🌾.

@@carolynwheaton8547 They didn't know him well but they likely were the ones rejecting his job application or had some influence in denying him which set him off.
The killer was obviously a loose cannon based on his conspiracy theories so it didn't take much to make an enemy of him.
My condolences to Professor Chang’s family. He was my Project Management professor. He helped all his students. RIP😢

Senseless? It made sense to the shooter. How come we don't discuss what the shooter thinks and relate that to the other shooters, and see if there is some sort of correlation, but instead take the easy route and blame an inanimate object.

I question if this was a hate crime because it sure looks like it to me because of the ethnicity of these 3 victims. Heart goes out to the families. Have they said motivate and anything about his Facebook posting(if one) or was it swept under the rug like incident in Tennessee

One Lady was 39. The reason was.. The Three were Professors. The last University polito was employed at was giving him.. Not a good recommendation. He could not get a Job being a less than Professional professor. What's too bad.. Was The University lacked Security.. Today after all the Safety issues at institutions of learning. Education? ¿LEARNING?!!! Ironic to me.

I was there during the shooting too in the lied Library the fact the shooting could’ve been a lot worse if our campus police didn’t neutralized as quickly as they did is insane

Nothing is more heart breaking than things like this happening in college campuses and places that we thought it safe . We need to our troops home and put them in our communities to protect our citizens and look into guns violences as this type of cases happened everywhere where it become normal if we don’t do anything about it

It doesn’t mean self-identified. The law enforcement investigators identified the victims and provided the information to the media.
If they didn't tell you, they were UNLV professors you would be forgiven to think they're Chinese reciprocity.

No. They all look “American” to me. You have no way of knowing merely by looking at people whether they are natural-born US citizens, naturalized US citizens, or immigrants who have not become citizens. It doesn’t matter anyway.
