Saving charts on TV is a nightmare, i have been using TV for 4 years and I have the premium package. Confusing backgrounds with saving an actual chart with all of your workings are two different things that have been convoluted. Even with autosave off your saved chart is overwritten with a different ticker. For me this is the most important yet overlooked feature of the package. Losing hours of work over and over is frustrating and if this isn't fixed I will move at the earliest opportunity.

It's literally insane. The idea that we have no "save chart" but we, in theory, can load a multitude of different sets of indicators or aesthetics easily...what?

They will never ever fix it., must be some goofy reason behind it.

omfg This is what I was literally looking for.... I had Copied a bunch of layouts, made new ones, not really thinking about it at the time. I've recently been going through the layouts to find where I actually drew important notations and things like this. Specific charts I have TA teachings on and what not. This is so damn true
I've also been wanting Different colors, seemingly the simplest thing I'd think to be able to add, so I can mark the different blockchains as a specific color and/or a Specific Exchange. But limited to the what, 8 colors? Yeah. 8. Also there could be so many more useful HOTKEYS ffs.

Well it is made clear that we can play with layouts, colors ,shapes funny names e.t.c. But what about the working part, for example switching to another layout without the change of symbol and the date range (or the zoom of the screen). I believe there are many more needs like that. Layout system is the weakest thing in Tradingview system.

I just started getting into Templates, Layouts and Themes and it is so convoluted that all the positive things about TV are gone and the frustration stays. Instead of solving this mess TV lets new and old customers waste hours because they think they don't understand how it works but in reality it's just not well designed. Will start going back to the free version and look for other options.

    hello Sir.
How about when I want to save charts of two forex pairs in which each of them will be locked to different price ratios?
I'm asking this because, I want to easily navigate between the two forex pairs (and don't forget, I want each to be saved in its locked price ratio)

Who would want to keep the LAYOUT window opened (that cannot be resized or turned into a shortcut bar) all the time for quick access ? Why can't the layout be selected from a drop down right from the first click, say, if you don't click on the cloud upload, drops down a list of all available layouts (or perhaps just the favorites), as opposed to the detour though "load layout" ?

Thanks for the video--very helpful! Two suggestions: Firstly, say I have same ticker on a Quad layout with different indicators like point and figure, Renko, my EW counts and a blank chart for miscellaneous analysis. It would be super helpful to be able maximize each layout and navigate each one with a button click. I thought you already have that, but it is for moving left or right on the chart. This feature is one of my favorites on TDAmeritrade's Thinkorswim platform, and I love it. Secondly, it would be nice to be able to save on data when in maximized mode allowing other inactive layout to go in hibernation. That will go as far in reducing overall live data usage and maximizing your charting experience by capping your computers resource requirements. Thanks for the consideration.

I watche this video in hopes that there was a way to set a created chart as a default so when you open Trading View it automatically came up with your preferred chart. Is there any way to do that? Or do you always had to load your preferred chart?

I have no idea what happened but I had 5 different browser windows with different charts. When I saved my first chart all my windows changed to the same one chart I had just saved. I couldn't get back my old charts.

How do you get the layout tab to reflect the name of the layout rather than the rather unhelpful name of the chart last used within the layout ie in a multichart layout

  • @michaelbast6151

To delete a layout has been changed in Q4 2022 so it’s not where they say it is.
Hit “load chart” and there you can delete it.
