Love your honest insight Sam. I’m racing EAGLEMAN 70.3 this Sunday. I Trained 730 days for this Sunday. I’m going to channel my inner Zen Warrior. Nama-yo-yo-yo-ste!!! Seriously, love your content. Keep it coming please. Best of luck in Coure dAlene!!
So happy for you Sam, what an excellent video. I can’t wait to see what you can do with that positive attitude on race day. Good luck!! I know you’ve got it in you.
Yoooo Sam chill with those heart rates!! 149 bpm @5:54 pace in 90degree heat?!?! insane dude, excited to watch you battle ole sanders at Coeur d' alene
Oh boy, can't say that I've personally had good experiences with a "redemption IM" this kinda time out from the first one. I guess you PROs are a different story. At least thats what I hope for you. Crush it!
Of course man ... you are completely right, if you have energy and you want to try once again and get a better feeling on the finish line, why not ? You can do that 😎🤘🏼 good luck 😉
Wow Amazing scenery; go get ‘em Sam! And that’s what it’s about doing what you love. Something completely different, have you ever had your nasal cavity & septum checked out by an ear nose & throat doc? I know a guy who always sounded a little nasal (like you), but was always struggling right at the edge going deep. He had an operation that straightened his septum, widening his nasal cavity & according to my buddy, increasing his O2 intake by 5% (besides not suffering from snoring anymore). I never won a race against him after that, ha.
Ironman CDA will be my first ever ironman!!! I’m your biggest fan. So nervous for the race but cannot WAIT to see you out on the course!! (and hopefully before and after too)
Great to see you went through a thoughtful analyzing process for this race: super! And indeed: you need to race for your reasons, not for us! Btw you're indeed a young wolf, I really love your passion and drive!!!
Yo yo yo, I wanted to rock your merch at Ironman Steelhead (Michigan) 70.3 June 27th. But it sold out! Re-stock!! Rockin pink in my kit to show some love. My first ever triathlon/endurance event ever. Looking to go sub 5.5. I want be on your team within the next 2-3 years.
Dang I keep forgetting how hot the mainland gets in the summer compared to Hawaii. I keep thinking that Hawaii is always hotter than places further north
A humbled man he is. he's found the connection it seems. Too much energy goes into trying to sell oneself these days. always having a camera in your face must be awful. This video gives us a little peak into a new attitude . For Sam i hope so because he seems like a good bloke. stay centered bro.
My favorite training shoes too bad Nike discontinued them. I guess they got replaced by those ugly Air Zoom Tempo Next% (which I got a pair) but still not as good as the Pegasus Turbo 2s
5 weeks feels like quite a bit between races to me. Times are different then they used to be. Look at Joe Skipper, Cam Wurf, Ben Hoffman, and Matt Russell many of their best IM's have been 3-5 weeks after another IM. But I shouldn't offer this insight its better that everyone thinks months of recovery are required.
You didn't perform under expectation in Tulsa because of over training...you were still physically and mentally drained from the previous race with Lionel.
Coeur D'Alene is not THE race for Lionel Sanders as this is to have an ironman race in the bucket before Kona. Your win there wouldn't mean much in my opinion.
@@marjolaurinolli7029 and Sam Long coming in first doesn't change anything for Lionel since Sam is already qualified. Lionel still gets his qualification.
Great Video, you got this! By the way 5:30 mile pace is 3:25 per km and 6:15 mile pace is 3:53 per km.

All the best Sam for your next race 👍. You are a great sports man and an inspiration for training hard but also wisely.

This is great, really enjoy seeing your thought process behind your decisions. Can't wait to see what happens!
Yo Yo Yo. Is Talbot Cox going to do the race week clips like they did for the 70.3 St. George race?
IDK, IM had him do it for their channel at Tulsa and it was a bit different...We will see
