    I just ordered it to use at church. I have had the 400 and 600. This will work just fine and is a great stand alone for small gigs too.

      Never tried that but it would probably work well as this amp has a powerful and clear sound across all frequencies.

      No. You can, but it will sound awful. You can use the guitar with the 990 though. 4 clear channels.

      It will be ok for couple of hours before you kill it. Guitar amps are not built for keyboards.
      You can play guitar through keyboard amps but it's highly not recommended to do the opposite.

    Does the cabinet have a partition between the right and left 12 inch speakers ? If not then it is not correctly separated enough to be a stereo cabinet.

    I find this amp appealing. I already have a Roland GA212, which is a 2 x 12" 200 w guitar amp with clean stereo inputs as well as a COSM amp modelling input. It has an unusually wide frequency range, and I have used it for guitar, synthesisers and drums. It weighs 70 lbs and is about the size of a Vox AC30 C2. The KC990 weighs 42 kg. Fortunately, it is on castors...

      Yeah, sounds great with this particular piano. If you want a nice clean, full range piano sound that gets super loud, this amp is great for that.

    • @Zoco101
      @Zoco101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You might get away with it, but I believe in "horses for courses" when it comes to. amps. Pianos are very demanding on mids (but still need good lows) and basses are very demanding on lows and even sub bass sounds. Pianists have had some success using bass amps. I suspect that regular use of a piano amp (by a bass) may wear it out prematurely. Do you need tweeters and stereo on a bass? I don't think so. If you don't mind bulky amps, a single 15" seems to be the way to go. Most gigging bassists I work with are using one of those 12" orange and black Mark Bass amps. The best bass amps I've ever heard were made by Peterson. I think the company has ceased production though.

    • @MikeBlock
      @MikeBlock  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can be but it would not be ideal. For bass in the same price range I highly recommend the Fender Rumble Stage 800. Tons of power, light weight and an amazing modeling system.

    Can you use a guitar amp for keyboard use??

    • @MikeBlock
      @MikeBlock  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris Gerhart Sure, but just be aware that the speaker in the guitar amp responds best to the frequencies of a guitar (E3 and higher) so the low notes won’t sound quite as good.

    I would be concerned about piano mids. They are often let down by all-purpose keyboard amps. No warblars included I see. Seems that amp technology is lagging way behind digital piano technology.

      In my opinion the keyboard amps sound terrible! I bought a nice Denon amp and some Yamaha speakers for less than the price of this Roland amp and the result is AMAZING!!! wicked stereo sound and crystal clear no hissing.. Hifi with a piano is the way to go.

      There are plenty of TH-cam reviews on keyboard amps but virtually none using PA speakers. I’m using a pair of Yamaha DXR12’s with my Nord Stage3 and the piano sound is awful.

      @@richard642 yes. Keyboards through audio interface direct to recording sounds phenomenal. However, after buying ang bringing them home, and will be using it for live through either an amp or powered speakers is a hit and miss and would get disappointed. I have stumbled upon the Vox VX50 Kb keyboard amp, and It sounds great. Its less than 5kgs, and sounds like a studio monitor. Only drawback for live is its only 50watts output.
