Thank you so much for all the opinions and the compliments toward this video. I deeply appreciate it. As a person who took a part of this event, I would like to inform you that this was a part of events to promote Faculty of Language and Literature's annual drama performance in Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Indonesia. All the casts and crews including the producer, director and music director were college students. We decided to perform The Lion King in 2015 because we knew that The Lion King is very great, there are many moral values to share with the audience. The Lion King is very porwerful and unforgettable for us. Every year our annual drama performance had thousands audience from mostly outside our college and from other cities even countries. Unfortunately, there were many of the students in our college who were not familiar with drama musical and even English except we who studied in Faculty of Languange and Literature where we indeed learned about English. Sadly, the crowds in this video might be having no idea about what the song we were performing or they might be never watching The Lion King. Therefore, the purpose of this event called 'flashmob' was only to at least attrack the crowds' (our fellow students from different faculties who were eating at our college's cafe) attention. We hoped that they would have a question on their mind 'what is going on?' Therefore, as you see, some of our crews gave them some flyers to inform them what is The Lion King, what we were going to perform at our campus main hall in the next 2 days, how to watch it and we encouraged them that it's okay to see the performance eventhough they didn't understand English. At the ends, on the D-days, we had thousands audience enjoyed and being satisfied with our performance. As I watched I so wanted everyone to stand up and sing and dance. I was disappointed as it did not happen. I was dancing singing in my seat not able to stand. Thank You to the singers, musicians for your talents keep going strong. Light And Love To All.

Unfortunately, this video added a professionally added soundtrack on top of it, rather than playing the original recording. This to me, is a shame as I was curious to people's true responses.

This is indonesia, I'm pretty sure most of them never heard about Lion King Musical/know the song (the animated movie was quite a while back!), add that with not knowing English language well is why the reception of this performance is so lame. I'm Indonesian and I only get into musicals when I moved to Australia in my late teens/early twenties. I have watched lots of musical since (including Lion King) and would definitely applaud these people.

Thank you for the clarification of who the people in the area are and what language is being spoken. It is not English, which may be why they aren't listening so hard to a song being sung in English. Still, politeness is a good thing.

Gosh, yeah the singing is great but the crowd is so lame! It's like they are all completely blind to what's going on around them! Personally though, it would have had a greater impact without the instruments- it doesnt even sound like they're going with what the people are singing..? Maybe keep a drum or something (to keep the singers together and add to the feel) but the guitar and piano stuff doesn't come over great. Regardless, the singers did great.

These kinds of things are great. I only have one problem. There are so many background singers singing so loudly that half the time you can't even hear the lead. Once the Lead starts the background singers need to bring it down to half volume. On a stage it probably doesn't matter, but in a smaller space they overwhelm the the lead.

Unfortunately, this video added a professionally added soundtrack on top of it, rather than playing the original recording. This to me, is a shame as I was curious to people's true responses.

Mike Hawk this is Indonesia, its a third world country very very backwards. The streets are dirty, traffic is an asshole, and the food will cause you tummy upsets. However some people are very nice. But some are rude and uncivilized.

We decided to perform The Lion King in 2015 because we knew that The Lion King is very great, there are many moral values to share with the audience. The Lion King is very porwerful and unforgettable for us. Every year our annual drama performance had thousands audience from mostly outside our college and from other cities even countries. Unfortunately, there were many of the students in our college who were not familiar with musical and even English except we who studied in Faculty of Languange and Literature where we indeed learned about English. What a boring crowd ! Most sitting on their phones glued to their screens, I wonder what would make them smile if this doesn't.. Lol
socaman123 and they were talking too! And that was annoying!
Typical Asians 😜😜😜
socaman123 break there phone would do ٩(๑`^´๑)۶
Unfortunately, this video added a professionally added soundtrack on top of it, rather than playing the original recording. This to me, is a shame as I was curious to people's true responses.
socaman123 video games, shallow uncultured events.. u know that sort of stuff. I mean c’mon look at their faces. Pretty bland.
🗣️🎙️ They seem so unfazed!

These kinds of things are great. I only have one problem. There are so many background singers singing so loudly that half the time you can't even hear the lead. Once the Lead starts the background singers need to bring it down to half volume. On a stage it probably doesn't matter, but in a smaller space they overwhelm the the lead.

Dam the crowd still talking amongst themselves and paying no attention. Crowd is dead.
Repent from your sins people, and be born again, believing is not enough, we need to repent, because that is real faith, Jesus loves us tho, that is why he gave himself on the cross for our sins, repent and let us accept the Lord Jesus,
You wont regret it.
