Can I thank you for transmitting the words of Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou and for permitting the tone and tenor of the Metropolitan to be heard by not dubbing the Metropolitan’s words. The spirit of the man is as important as is his words. As for the icon of St Iakovos Tsalikis in the background, it is a reminder that the saints watch over us. May we too be an illuminated candle, sacrificing our life for the conversion of others.

Shaun Mulligan, many elderly people & those with poor vision are not able to read subtitles or moving text. How sad to do the hard work of translating & yet not have so many thirsty souls drink from the holy fountain! Dubbing allows them also to benefit from the teaching of our beloved Metropolitan. An alternative might be to provide transcripts, as that will help those who are unable to read moving text.

There's a pattern seen in many saints...that of the fruits of the heartfelt prayers and deep faith of a very holy Mother. So as the Metropolitan says of his Mother and Grandmother as did Elder Ephraim of Arizona whose Mother kept Vigil in her kitchen until she was tonsured a nun. I also recall Elder Zachariah asking his Mother why she needed to do all those prostrations...to which she responded that it was ok because one day he would be a priest.

Glory to God for all things! I am mostly speechless. As a catechumen, this was greatly insightful and encouraging. May God continue to bless and strengthen your ministries Father Peter, and His Beatitude Neophytos. Greetings from Canada.
PS. I am finding as I become closer to God, and as my desire for God increases, I am being pulled further away from my very atheistic and scientific university studies. Every time I go to class, or even attempt to study, I feel increasingly ripped from God and cast into inner darkness. Is this a sign I should take leave from my studies? Or is this a temptation I ought to overcome for the sake of Christ?
I suppose I am mostly humbly asking for your prayers on this matter brothers and sisters. Forgive me. Glory to God for all things.

Thanks Be To Our God Fr Peter, for this wisdom filled conversation you posted for us to grasp.
So many topics and things of very deep spiritual discernment were presented to us.
I understood you and your questions, and I understood the Holy Elder/Bishop of Cypress’s answers. I received confirmation on many many questions I had within myself concerning the appropriate approach I/We Orthodox Christians must use going forward. I know everything you and The Bishop said we’re True. I’ve read the Saints and the Holy Fathers and that same Holy Spirit is here today with us as it was there present with Them.
As the Bishop stated, technology is helping Him speak to many faithful as well as many searching hearts all over this earth.
Elder Ephraim, of Blessed Memory, was my Spiritual Father at Saint Anthony’s in Arizona.
He gave me confession and spiritual guidance many times.
It’s God The Holy Spirit that has us in His Hands.
I understand to a degree, by God’s Grace some of the Fullness of Orthodox Christianity.
Metropolitan Maximos of Blessed Memory always instructed me, your primary job as a Christian is to acquire God The Holy Spirit.
God’s Mercy and Love is the confirmation of our struggles. Our God Given Talents used in service for our Lord Jesus Christ and in communion with His Church and Kingdom.
Thank you again for all your zeal and efforts to help us all!

I’ve been so excited for this as I love hearing - well per English translation- anything and everything this wonderful Metropolitan has to say. I’ve appreciated his fearlessness and steadfast faith when other bishops stumbled and gave in to the fear of covid. It’s my hope to one day be able to write a thank you letter to him stating as much.
This feels like a blessing to hear a longer talk than the short little clips around TH-cam.

Thank you so much father, seeing the ugliness all around, a distance took place between me and my creator asking god “ if you are present how can you allow all this happen to humanity”Watching Your interview cleansed my heart put me back on the path.
I am considering going to an Orthodox church.
I live in Istanbul Turkey appreciate if you have some suggestions how I can attend an Orthodox Church here in this Muslim country.
God bless you. Wishing you all the best.

    NOTE:
FYI: Translation mistake at 47:50: “…to descend the NOUS (*not mind*) into the heart…”
The nous is not the mind, i.e. the rational intellect, but the SPIRIT or man, the higher faculty of the soul by which he communes with God.

@@OrthodoxEthos Yes, I do. The Orthodox community is tight-knit but still too small, isolated, a bit dispirited, to be honest. No mission, so to speak, as the community leans mostly towards the "heartlands" expat communities (most of whom only turn up at Christmas and Pascha, anyway). The Copts, on the other hand, have already set up a mission in the underprivileged areas, and seem to be growing.
