Very nice review. The lounge wa impressive, the food looked delicious. The seating in business class looked impressive. lol with a view… funny. Your seating area seemed comfortable. It is a bonus learning the crew wasaccomodating
I still prefer the 1-2-1 configuration in business but this layout is really good when the aisle seat is empty, and is certainly better than the traditional 2-2-2 seats.
Thank you Rory for a well produced and informative review. I have flown Oman air a number of times and took this very flight in Business class in 2019. I concur with your comments and I still believe they serve some of the best meals in the sky. The prawns I had were some of the best ever. I would fly with them again anytime.

There were three choices for the main course: chicken Kofta, fish with rice and a vegetarian dish. It would be nice if they provided a menu tho! 😊 The flight was in the morning I didn’t get the satay 🥹
Thanks for the review Rory. Given the competition from its Gulf rivals, Oman Air simply has to be good otherwise it will fail. For your info main Gulf airlines like EK, EY, QR and GF serve alcoholic drinks. All are sixth-freedom carriers so they must cater to a global market.

Wow, what an enviable flight journey on business class on Oman Air! I like this airlines, too being low key & humble, yet the service is excellent. The airline's already on my bucket list for my next trip to Saudi Arabia, a mysterious country just newly opened for tourists.

Great review Rory. I flew Omanair to Europe from NZ last August/ September via KL with Malaysian (meh). I will go out of my way to fly WY again. Omanair puts many, supposedly, higher rated ME and Asian airlines to shame. Only wished they flew their own aircraft to Australasia as they'd carve out a decent niche of loyal flyers, for sure. That fish dish you mentioned? It's 'machbous', a bit like a delicately spiced biryani. The fish was likely grouper. I ordered this exact dish as a meal upgrade in economy ex Muscat (only extra $20 so peanuts . Dish served on porcelain plates with a lovely fresh side salad and a passionfruit pannacotta). Even the normal economy meals were v good ex KL and Zurich. The Omani crew were uniformly warm, professional and modest. Great that they're joining oneworld. Qantas and Malaysia better look out if ever WY gets serious about serving the Australasia to Europe market. If there was any downside, Oman itself was insanely hot in September when i was there... 46c (google 'real feel' 48!!)..especially coming from a chilly Zurich.
Hi As mentioned towards the end of the video, I booked a multi-city flight with Omanair: Cairo-Muscat-Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar. The Cairo to Muscat flight was operated by Oman Air’s 737, and it was a red eye, there’s not much to talk about so I didn’t film it. 😊
How's those people who ignore the safety message at the end there. 😠 I've been on an aircraft when they have had to stop suddenly and those impatient people went flying on to the floor and into each other. Lol....
Completely agree with your assessment, but I fly via Manila as cheaper than going via Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur. That I dislike KL's airport and find Bangkok tedious adds to the attractiveness of Manila, although nor is it perfect. This route including an Australian connection on PAL is priced well below Singapore Airlines, overrated Qatar Airways and an airline that's apparently gone downhill since I travelled, Etihad. Also Emirates like Qatar on some routes uses outdated 777s that are six across in business class but lacking Oman Air's features including direct aisle access for window seats. Oman Air has to be one of the best airlines in the Middle East: I couldn't fault it, although the test might be if one flight had problems. The service on board was excellent. Unlike some YTubers, you are cluey enough to show us the food options slowly: it's poor when others move the camera quickly. The lounge at MCT is sensational but with a typical connection one doesn't get more than an hour and 15 minutes to enjoy the selection, and ambience. Well done on a fair, not exaggerated review.
@@RoryDing Correct, I flew on their A332 between KUL and MCT vv. 787s to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan. And to Bangkok. Recall they only offer first class to London. Pretty redundant given their business class is so good.
Unfortunately we are not welcome there. But it looks amazing airline and lounge. Homosexuality in the Sultanate of Oman is illegal according to §§, 33 and 223 of the penal code and can be punished with a prison sentence up to three years.

I like general trivia and decadent nonsense on a regular basis. It keeps me grounded in the important things in life when I am exposed to irrelevant junk. I had a very similar experience 2 weeks ago from KL through to Milan. 10/10 for service food and the lounge. A great hidden airline.

Best Business Class seat layout ever - very ingenious 2-2-2 configuration!

The Penfolds red they offer sells for well over AUD$120. An excellent video which I thoroughly enjoyed. Good editing and a clear camera.

Yep I was in Saudi Arabia 3 weeks ago! It was worth a visit! Except the e visa was expensive $260 😅

Muscat is not as modern as cities like Dubai and Doha, and the public transport is still lacking but it’s worth a visit! 😀

Rail service is sparse in the Middle East and Gulf. Probably the best can be found in Saudi where there's high-speed Talgo trains (on the main route).
