On 30th September 1991, Rik and Ade took to the boards in the West End in a production of Waiting for Godot at The Queens Theatre, London.
This footage is from a Channel 4 morning programme called Box Office. It features a short interview with them and some behind the scenes rehearsal footage. - ตลก
wish someone had filmed the whole play
Saw this on a school trip I think we were all still laughing on the bus home. Honestly one of the funniest things I’ve seen in my whole life.
So jealous
I wish they did recorded plays for DVD as standard. Imagine being able to see Robin Williams and Steve Martin, and Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson, at will.. Even if they charged the full price of the ticket for it, I'd pay it to be able to see. Not everyone can make it to the theatre, not everyone is old enough at the time.. I'm gutted I had to miss out on this.
As Ruby Wax said... Rik is so beautiful it hurts to look at him. The two of them are absolute babes. Still miss Rik.
I still remember this performance. And how I felt.
I saw it at the theatre too. Rik and Ade were fantastic, it's a memory that will stay with me forever.
Learned about this play after watching the Bottom Exposed documentary and promptly bought a copy. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend doing so and imagining Estragon as Eddie and Vladimir as Richie. You will not be disappointed.

God I wish I'd seen this. I was only 8 at the time but still would have loved it
I especially would have loved it aged 8. Bottom & Ren & Stimpy were my 2 fave shows at that age.

Waiting for Bottom! Would be great to see the whole play with these two.
I would love to see it too, but I don't think it was ever filmed.
Nice to see some footage
The bit at the end with the critics genuinely surprised me. Can't win them all, I suppose.
I like the bit when things get confusing with the boots scene.

Funny guys, but could they really act? Think the jury's out. Wish I could see this though.

McKellern and Stewart did it much better.

Rik should be estragon, not vladimir. I don't think they did this very well by the look of those clips.
