Also, I actually think babel is a fine side deck card for the mirror. It sounds weird, but in a back and forth with dingirsu effects, being ae to revive your dingirsu on your opponents turn will help you win those exchanges since youll be be able to summon yours twice as often
I like that reasoning! Babel has definitely been a card I've been wavering on, but yeah there are definitely matchups and scenarios where it's very important to have, and others where it's entirely dead. You bring up an interesting proposal though, might have to test it out! :)
Before I ask my question, I want to thank you for making these videos about Lunalight. Your knowledge of the deck has really helped me and probably everyone who watches your videos. I was able to secure a Top 8 with the deck at regionals before the hit to Mermaid. Your videos have been so useful! With that said, with the release of CHIM, do you think the release of I:P will change the design of the deck? Instead of relying on Gryphon/Order going first, would it be better to go I:P Masq with Galatea, Babel, Dweller, and a Ding in grave with Cymbal?
Hey, sorry for responding to this late! Sometimes TH-cam notifications are really weird, so I have to periodically check up on the videos myself to see new comments at times haha. Also, congrats on your regional top! I do believe I:P Masquerena will be a useful addition to the deck, but perhaps not as commonplace as with pure Orcust. The deck puts up a fair amount of interruption outside of the Orcust engine, so depending on the situation, it can be more valuable to protect your board with the standard Dingirsu + Crescendo with Galatea setup as opposed to trying to get the 2 disruptions out of Babel + I:P. That said, depending on the matchup and overall state of the meta it can certainly be more optimal, so it'll just depend on how the format shifts :)
Usually, I like sending climax witth curious and use galatea to set the babel in game 1. Unlike any other orcust variant, lunalight is the only one that can consistently get both the field spell and the trap without relying on hard drawing them. Post siding is when i run the relative floodgate. Ive actually seen people play solemn judgment as their target for game 1 though im not too keen on it.
I personally think that EEV can be such a blowout card that I'd prefer having it over the Babel in a lot of cases. Assuming I don't need to send an Orcust off Curious, I'd rather be able to have an option to drop a more impactful card. There are some cases though where if you wanna play around Super Poly, you can just end on Dingirsu with EEV, not summon the 2nd Galatea, and actually do put up the Babel so that's worth mentioning. Also, there was a point in time a while ago where I tested Solemn Judgment but I cut that pretty quickly haha :P
@@SirEmanon I had the same experience with judgment too xD. I feel like with maskarena now being an option getting babel might be too good. I guess you can call it my personality but i hate, mind the language, scummy floodgates unless theyre in my side >.>
I’ve been testing the deck myself, pretty much the same build except i was running grepher. I like 1 knightmare 2 harp 1 cymbal since you can normal harp if you need to. I might cut one of the harps for wand, but im not a huge fan of wand since its such a dead card when drawn and its kind of a win-more extender in my experience
Yeah, I've actually swapped the ratio for Orcusts like I mentioned in the video to the one you just described, for actually the same reason haha. I do like Wand in cases where you have to grind. It's bad to draw, but it allows you to play a lot more freely with the Orcusts to be able to make larger pushes at pretty much all stages in the game.
I've seen that build and it's pretty neat. But skipping your MP1 of your next turn is huge. It seems counter intuitive to me because that board isn't too hard to get through, especially since the monsters being summoned are in DEF which is lower than their ATK. At least in those monsters in particular. So if your opponent picks apart your board you have 0 chance of OTKing them next turn (which is the point of Lunalights.) So although Dugares with Curious can enable some nice locks, skipping your MP1 is too detrimental to a deck that wants to kill your opponent as quick as possible. Thats just my 2¢ :)
I agree with many of the points brought up by Isaac, and that's the reason I ultimately don't think I'll be running those cards. To add to some of the issues mentioned, I think it's difficult to gauge which monster to summon blind game 1 depending on the matchup unless you have a strong meta call. For instance, Spell Canceller isn't ideal vs. decks like Salamangreat and Thunder which can push past it with relative ease, and Kristya is rather lackluster against Sky Striker and other control decks like True Draco and Subterror. Overall, I think it's a simple win condition that's easy to achieve, which is always appreciated, but I don't think a single floodgate is universally applicable enough to justify maining at the moment. :)
Woul you consider playing the masquerena-unicorn package. I think its gonna be a must of in any orcust deck. Maybe cut the daruma doll and the evilswarm?
I answered this in a previous comment, so I'll summarize my answer here: I'd have to restructure my combos in order to accommodate it, and I'm not sure that Unicorn is a better disruption that just summoning more Rank 4's, but it's definitely a consideration for sure given its advantageous typing and potential as a disruptor :)
Great deck profile! Thanks so much as always for the awesome content. Although one question I have is how you do the gryphon combo to set the eradicator since it needs to be linked to something to activate the setting from graveyard effect...
Heeeeey what are you actually think about Daigusto Emeral or Dugares? Both could be really good R4nk to grind like Daigusto Emeral recicle your engine again and dugares discard a Knightmare if you open with it and you draw 2 cards which could be more Extender. But maybe there are Space issue :D. But Idk how consistent you make the EEV Play since you have to Go mostly into curious to send the Orcust engine. Also, think about Dugares, in if your Armageddon gets ashed and you have only one Level 4 Extender like Mothman you could try to play the game.
Hey! I'm not too keen on Dugares, because in order to adequately include it into your combos safely, you have to summon Azathot, Force Strix, and Dugares which is 3 Rank 4's prior to even going into your main plays, which I feel is very difficult to achieve in most hands. I don't think that the situations of drawing specifically Armageddon Knight + Danger warrant its inclusion either; I'd just try to play out the hands as best as possible. As for Emeral, I really do like the card a lot and I would love to include it, but it does come down to the space issue sadly :(
Can you show some test hands and end boards? One this that worries me with EEV is that if the opponent is maining super poly it can be a complete blow out.
I'm having a little trouble figuring out how the combos works. With chick + tiger + jackalope (which give you a monster in grave for nyarla to swap materials and an extender) I can get as far as gryphon with the virus set as well as a lunalight monster on the board . But since you're sending the virus with curious how are you getting to the orcusts?
EEV isn't as consistent, so I'd always prioritize the Orucsts first. This leaves the inclusion of EEV of course up to debate, so you can easily drop it if you don't find the Gryphon combo to be consistent enough or worthwhile. However, if you open either Harp or Knightmare you can end up setting both plays up which happens a fair bit, accounting for Danger draws and such. Imma make another combo video pretty soon, but yeah those are my preliminary thoughts :)
I'm not super surprised by his win; he's an extremely good player and he even mentioned recently that he felt Lunalight Orcust was the best deck (which prompted me to pick the deck back up and give it a try). As far as potential banlist implications a few months later, it'll just depend on how consistently the deck performs in the upcoming months. Congrats to him! :)
It's more of a higher variance combo (at least if you still want to incorporate the Orcusts into the combo string), but I'll talk more about it in an upcoming combo video; there's a lot to unpack and discuss! :)
I think : 1) Number 60 is too good 2) Brotherhood is important VS Thunder today 3) I Will try to play 3x Malicious, 2 free summon and it's à dark / warrior, PERFECT for Curious What do you think ?
I think Number 60 is great in theory, but it just doesn't work out in practice nearly as much as I'd hope. As a combo piece, it's hard to add it alongside Azathot and Force Strix, as that requires 3 Rank 4's prior to summoning anything even remotely defensive (like Dweller, Nightmare, Tornado, etc.), and as an extender in builds that turbo out Kristya and Spell Canceller, I just find that the board isn't powerful enough, and you relinquish your OTK potential while not benig able to cover the entire field with a blind selection of one of those floodgate monsters. Tiger King is really good and is one of the spots I'm trying to fit in the deck for sure. I really do like the card a lot. The good thing with Orcust cards is that those cards are inherently strong ver Thunder anyway, so as long as you can access the engine, you can definitely out their boards a lot of the time. The problem I have with Malicious is getting it to the grave consistently. You have stuff like Armageddon Knight and Grepher, but you relinquish the chance of those cards being used to send Lunalights if you don't open them, or bulking on normal summons. And relying on Dangers isn't a strategy that I'm a fan of since it introduces more variance. Overall though, I do like the concept of adding more extenders, just gotta find the right ones :)

@@caingaytan7043 It's ok TBH. It's a good card because in it's uniqueness to let you link summon on your opponent's turn. It's usefulness really depends on your circumstance. If your hand has say a Danger monster, you can make a Unicorn and spin a card by discarding the danger monster on your opponents turn and not really loose out on card advantage. It can also make Avramax indestructible by card effects adding to it's already awesome protection from targeting and battle. So there is that... I think it's wise to pick up a few copies when the price settles because it's only a matter of time before Konami comes out with a generic link that does some ridiculous effect on summon (i know we have Saryuja but there's no point in making it on your opponents turn.) For now it's just an ok card. :)
I think the card has a lot of potential, but as you mentioned, the extra deck is extremely tight. It's cool because being a DARK Cyberse helps it make Curious, which can definitely help with combo potential in certain hands. If I wanted to hone in on using it specifically as part of the end board, I'd have to reevaluate and restructure some of my current combo lines. Often times, I end up using either the stray Curious or Barricadeborg Blocker (depending on hand) in order to go into the Orcust combo currently, so I'd have to consider ways to both perform the Orcust combo and leave enough materials to make I:P worthwhile. There's also the question of what targets are worth summoning on the opponent's turn. Of course, Unicorn/Phoenix and Topologic Bomber Dragon/Apollousa come to mind, but I'm not sure any of those targets are quite good enough to warrant its inclusion just yet, but time will tell :)
I'm wavering towards the Oonalight build being good for regional play, but the course of a long tournament like a YCS worries me a bit. The more I play with that build, the more issues I run into with consistency, and I just feel like Orcusts, while being less powerful as far as end boards, just offer a lot more native consistency overall. :)
I used to run Grepher in my very old builds on the channel, but I've dropped it simply to avoid situations where I bulked on normal summons, and I think that if you don't have a specific hand to be able to play in cases where you get hand trapped (i.e. pitching an Orcust, or pitching Chick with Tiger in hand), it's a lot riskier than Armageddon Knight. Those are the reasons why I dropped it, but I still do like the card in principle due to being able to be another starter and offering more type diversity for Curious, so feel free to test it if you'd like! :)
Yep, the core list I feel is pretty straightforward, it just depends on the ratios for certain starters as well as the Orcust engine, and I think that comes down to further testing and preference :)
Ed's my hero ;) (In all seriousness though, I've been testing all sorts of Lunalight builds since it's my favorite archetype, and this build was definitely on the list to be tested eventually! :))
You play 2-3 Time Thief Winder with any combination of Regulator and Bezel Ship. They act as extenders for the most part and being dark machines plays nice with Orcust.
I typically go for 3 Winder and 1 Bezel Ship. The way I view Winder is a Danger without variance, meaning that you're guaranteed the DARK Psychic on board to help make Curious (and Bezel is a Machine), as well as further extenders that contribute a lot to the combos without sacrificing a lot of possible hand quality in the process. :)
@@rickysingh7896 I wouldn't say so. The entire goal is to summon Curious, and the Lunalight cards alone don't get there even with Azathot, so whether it's through a Danger or another extender like Time Thieves, it really helps allow you to start your bigger plays :)

combo!!!!!! video!!!!!
Coming soon! Been taking a small break but it'll be up over the weekend :)
I run a really similar list but I have grepher rota and only one moth man and 2 harp 1 skeletons 1 knightmare
Yep, the core list I feel is pretty straightforward, it just depends on the ratios for certain starters as well as the Orcust engine, and I think that comes down to further testing and preference :)
i see somebody’s been talking to ed!
Ed's my hero ;)
(In all seriousness though, I've been testing all sorts of Lunalight builds since it's my favorite archetype, and this build was definitely on the list to be tested eventually! :))
Video combo?
Same build here lol
What is the time thief engine you speak of?
You play 2-3 Time Thief Winder with any combination of Regulator and Bezel Ship. They act as extenders for the most part and being dark machines plays nice with Orcust.
I typically go for 3 Winder and 1 Bezel Ship. The way I view Winder is a Danger without variance, meaning that you're guaranteed the DARK Psychic on board to help make Curious (and Bezel is a Machine), as well as further extenders that contribute a lot to the combos without sacrificing a lot of possible hand quality in the process. :)
Sir Emanon oh very interesting it’s a bit of winmore if a rank 4 isn’t mad though isn’t it?
@@rickysingh7896 I wouldn't say so. The entire goal is to summon Curious, and the Lunalight cards alone don't get there even with Azathot, so whether it's through a Danger or another extender like Time Thieves, it really helps allow you to start your bigger plays :)
Combo Tutortial!
16 cards in Extra Deck?
8 Link monsters, 7 Xyz monsters :)
@@SirEmanon Ah ok hehe. What building are you using on dueling? Is this one? After many years, i will play with The lunalights again. I building The deck with orcusts now.
Just play black sheep to play around ash.
PLEASE!!!!! TEST HAND AND COMBOS !!!! SUSCRIBE ALREADY !!
Hey dude, love the enthusiasm, but I'm working on it. I'm the type of player who's methodical and meticulous, and I'd prefer to show you guys the absolute perfect combos instead of rushing things out :)
