Today I am able to present an absolute rarity! This lift is fully original from the WW2 time period and is still in working condition!
This building seems to have been used as a warehouse and this lift was used to store in goods.
Another speciality this lift has to offer is the function to manually level the lift for loading goods off a truck. In order to do that, the doors on ground floor are higher than on the other floors and the lift can go up almost a metre with the doors open so that good can be loaded into it easier.
Also many thanks go to the individual who discovered this amazing lift and showed it to me!

WOW Beautiful and very old elevator
I notice that there are still asbestos plates in the door frames and it's really rare to see that today and I find that the machine makes relatively little noise for a machine from the 40s and moreover kept by chain. I have seen and heard more modern machines that made a lot more noise.
    Great video :D

      Thank you very much!
Yes it is actually very quiet and runs smoothly. Although the sound of the chain is a bit unsettling when you're in the car but in the motor room it's really nice. There surely are modern lifts much loder than this, yes. XD

What is that light bulb in the controller used for

It indicates the lift being in use, like the indicator lights in the landing panels. It lights up as soon as the doors are opened or the lift is moving.
