- RARE original lifts - It's been a long time since I've seen this design as 99% have either been ripped out or modernised.
Here is the motor room.
Only one original lift is working, the other is out of service (power issues I believe?) and the last has been modernised.
A chance to look at the "Bennie" controller design.
Hope you enjoy it!
With thanks to RizzBriff for his help as always - without him you guys (and girls maybe?) wouldn't have this video!

Relay logic is a very impressive thing, high speed calculators and "computers" where made using relay logic in the 1930-40's In America, Bell Labs made a calculator using Strowger(Step By Step) telephone switching relays and IBM along with Harvard made the Mark 1 and Mark 2 calculators.
They must be some seriously heavy duty contacts!
The startup sound 2:20! Do you know if these still exist? I am desperate to experience a lift using Trislot motors?
Look out for lifts with Bull motors too... They also sound good!
Tape head is still wired to the original remanent relays similar to the original vane reader
@freegameLP probably an asset ID label. Used by Facilities Management companies/departments to identify what assets they have.
A lot of wires!
does the modernised lift have a new motor 9:46 just noticed it said Liftec at the bottom of it
Are the high voltage relays what controls the motor and doors?
Really nice vintage elevator controlers. But what got blurred out at 5:24?
Serial number I think
Hi just a query I'm dismantling an 1960s passenger lift 600kg any suggestions
