I believe this anime would've had good potential if it were more based on the original manga instead of starting and ending right in the middle. I agree about the voice acting which is why I find the Japanese/english subtitled version or the UK dub easier to watch....and yes. I am a Clamp fan and Rg Veda is one of my favorite mangas. The artwork is gorgeous, you find so much more about the characters and their histories, there's much more emotion and the story itself is sad, but very exciting at the same time. It kept me interested and still does. This is why I can appreciate the works of Clamp. Personally, I think their way of story telling is really beautiful. Just thought I'd throw it out there. :)
I do like that Sage acknowledges that the fault comes in the anime ADAPTATION into a shortened OVA format (and a lazy one at that) rather than the story itself in manga or the story in and of itself. As a CLAMP fan, even with all the CLAMP cliches and foibles, all I can say is thanks, Sage!

The dub used here is interesting as the one from when I watched this years ago had a very British sounding voice cast. Made the majority of the cast sound much more regal and dignified, it's hard to explain, but overall it felt better than this to my recollection. Back then though, I swear I thought I was missing episodes before and after what was shown here because everything begins and ends so damn abruptly.

Man! One of the best manga ive ever read in the 90s-it was in Japanese at first but certainly it tells you that Clamp were the best authors around! I worshiped RG Veda and clamps other works. Kaori Yuki is another amazing author-angel sanctuary for me. Today's anime is too predictable and superficially flat and aimless. I miss the good stuff and authors. Their work use to be captivating. But I certainly love to see some diversity at least. Looks too much of the same , and predictable. Bland, bland baby!

I own the entire "RG Vega" manga (It's been awhile since I read it though) and I came away from watching the adaptation thoroughly pissed off. The manga itself wasn't perfect (In particular there were parts of the ending that felt derivative of "Magic Knight Rayearth", which was started after "Vega" but concluded first.) but this was just a hack job. I don't even know why they bothered since they clearly didn't give a shit.

Wow, this anime... So I guess back in the 90's there was a company that released single episodes of anime and whatnot on CD-ROMs (licences, not bootlegged as far as I can tell). I had one with the first OVA of this in crappy early Quicktime quality. I watched it several times and even brought it to my computer class in Middle School. Good times.

I had one with the first OVA of this in crappy early Quicktime quality. I watched it several times and even brought it to my computer class in Middle School. Good times.
I remember this one! It was my first anime purchase way back when (and yes, I was distracted by the pretty cover art). I thought at the time that maybe I only was watching a part two out three deal and missing something, or didn’t understand anime. I found out soon enough it was just crap and never played it again.

Is it just me or is the main Villain played by Crispin Freeman? (voice of Alucard in Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate, and probably other shows and characters I don’t know about.)

It’s too much expedition and , going nowhere story , bad done voice acting , the body proportion are done horribly, it’s a shame the clamp are really good team yet some of there anime are executed really badly
