All I knew about this game was that it was the inspiration for Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning. And given that's a horror game that's _parodying_ it, that pretty much told me all I needed to know about it lol.
So fun fact, Sonic School house originally wasn't a sonic game. It was just a generic educational game that featured I believe a talking clock/stopwatch as a guide before Sonic was slapped on top with the grace of a can of paint being thrown at a wall.

I think I have the most unusual history with this game as it was the second Sonic game I ever owned after Sonic 2, and it was my first ever 3D game, so as a little kid, it looked revolutionary with its 3D graphics, but looking back, it hasn't aged well. Yeah, I didn't grow up with an N64 nor Playstation, so this was the only 3D game I played until I got my GameCube (well, Disney's Extremely Goofy Skateboarding being an exception.) I remember my favorite parts being the matching game (where I was introduced to Knuckles) and the field trip where you learned about the animals. One silly little minor detail I got enjoyment out of as a kid was changing the colors of the colored walls by clicking on them. I remember I once took time to color every wall in the room with Dr. Robotnik pink because it was my favorite color at the time. Yeah, this game isn't anything special looking back, but I still like it out of nostalgia.
Sonic Schoolhouse just has a certain vibe to it y'know. the horrible character models, the strange Sonic voice, the fact that an educational Sonic game even exists wild stuff
Sonic has 2 more educational games on the leapfrog devices: Sonic x on leapster and Sonic didj. It's a shame there isn't a way to play them on an emulator though. I would like to check them out of curiosity and compare them with Sonic's schoolhouse.
I’d just like to say I’m playing 06 on the 360 for the first time ever and I’m really enjoying it and scratching my head at all the hate the game gets 🤷🏻♂️ I’ve held off playing it this long because of the hate and because I’ve only had a 360 for about a year now.
I felt the same way when I played Sonic 06 on my ps3 for the same time honestly. Silver and Shadow's stories were great, it has the best soundtrack and level design from the series (in my opinion), the local multiplayer is really fun, it has the best and most intimidating villain - Mephilies, CGI cutscenes look great and I like the multiple playable characters and stage themes too. It's my favorite Sonic game honestly despite being flawed. Sure sometimes a random glitch happened but that made the game funnier in my opinion and it didn't happen very often anyway so it didn't halt my progress or anything. I actually think that Sonic Colors Ultimate and Sonic Frontiers are more glitchy than Sonic 06. Sonic 06 at least didn't have any crashing, seizure inducing glitches and it barely had any pop in. Also Sonic Forces, Sonic jam on the game com, Sonic labyrinth, Sonic spinball, Sonic blast on game gear, Sonic genessis on GBA, Sonic schoolhouse and Sonic Boom rise of Lyric are worse than Sonic 06. I'm sad that Sonic 06 is getting so much hate honestly. The game's pretty fun if you give it a chance despite having some glitches here and there.

Maybe some people found it too difficult and blamed the game 🤷🏻♂️ also I’ve only encountered one glitch where I got stuck in a cage but I kept jumping and I got out. No big deal. I love the game honestly.
@@sandman8920 I agree. The only glitch I encountered was getting stuck in that bridge in the wave ocean match speed section. It didn't happen often though. It's a shame that it's criticised so heavily and what annoys me is that there are a lot of people who just say that it's a bad game without even playing it. As for the challenge, I like it It's definitely one of the harder sonic games out there but Sonic Unleashed was harder in my opinion.
I don’t understand how anyone plays Sonic 06 without realizing Sonic and the rest of the characters control like garbage. That’s absolutely the first thing anyone should notice once you get control of Sonic That’s the worst thing about the game. Worse than Sonic’s lack of speed, the glitches and lack of functionality, story, Elise, town missions
I actually played Sonic's schoolhouse a few years ago out of curiosity and felt sick after playing it because of the higher than normal speed I was running it on + the Doom like camera. At least I can say I played it but the game was not worth it the trouble of setting it up. It's a shame because there are plenty of good educational games out there and it would be cool if Sonic had at least one good educational game.

I had this game. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I was definitely too old for it when I got it. But it had Sonic and I loved/love Sonic, so I liked that I had it and got to play it.
The problem with this game is that it revolves around education. Other than in Japan, education games will always fail in Western countries. I've seen education games launch on major consoles since the Nintendo vs Genesis days and they all failed. It was actually deemed a waste of money to produce at one point because game consoles are build for thrills and ironically, education is not fun on gaming consoles. Whats also ironic is that as I mention, Japan sells a lot of education games on major console in their own country and even adults there would play them.
I actually really like Forces. It's probably the game i've replayed the most aside from like S3K or Adventures 1/2. It's fun and you can beat it in a few hours pretty easily.

And engineers get a lot of math. LMAO (For real, though this was an interesting video about an obscure game, I get why some don't like math, but it's not useless)
People who like Sonic Heroes but hate Shadow the Hedgehog, never played Shadow the Hedgehog. The story pacing can be a mess if you go from good to evil and vice versa, but the game is far better than Groundhog Day simulator & Knuckles despite popular opinion. Also the other issues like "candy from a baby" happened in Adventure also, but it wasn't "edgy" there, neither was the contextual swearing like the "shoot"s and "curse you sonic"s in Adventure and Heroes. Rant over. Sonic's Schoolhouse is rad, like a fever dream that I go back to for reasons I cannot explain.
