They are pretty colourful little guys. In the state of Victoria there is even a pink robin. Now that little boy is quite a sight. Thank you for your nice comment😊
They are so beautiful. The red-capped robin looks like our chickadees. Scarlet robin looks like flycatcher, special the girl. Australia is such an amazing place with so many beautiful and unique animals and plants.
Yes that is true. The continent has been separated from the other continents for a very long time so everything has evolved differently. Thank you for your support😊
The camera does not have much of a telephoto lens unfortunately, but we have lots of these guys around our house and garden and sometimes they just get curious and come up close to check us out😊 Thank you for all your nice comments
I agree with you. I think in Australia there are more varieties of these birds we call Robins than anywhere else. There are all sorts of colours. The Yellow Robin is also quite pretty but the most pretty Robin in the world is the Pink Robin. Yes Pink. Just like candy. Unfortunately there are not many of them. But then, they are not the same species as your robins, so it is not a fair comparison😁
Lovely captures of the Australian Robins very interesting birds to watch in their natural habitat Australia has some of the most beautiful birds in the world really like the information you have given us very good totally enjoyed entitlrely very nicely filmed best wishes and many thanks for sharing 🐦
In WA we have the red-capped robin, which is nice. But you guys in Victoria are the only place in the World that has the candy Pink Robin. And I am green with envy😐.Thanks for your lovely comment Peter😊
Wow, it's been a while since I've been here! Those Aussie robins are beautiful, and that is some amazing shooting. Nothing warms my heart like a songbird with the most vibrant oranges you can imagine. Around here it's a Baltimore Oriole, I've yet to see a camera that can do the color any justice. All the best.
That is a really nice comment😊Actually I am not really thrilled about the footage of the red capped robin but those guys just won't let me come close so I didn't have much to choose from. I have noticed that on a clear cool sunny morning the colours are much more vibrant, but that probably doesn't happen too often in your part of the world. Thanks for dropping by
I totally agree with you. We have both the scarlet and red-capped robin nesting near our house, so we see them nearly every day. For some reason I like the red-capped robin more. Thank you for your nice comment. I like your cockatoo kissing video but I think it was more fighting than kissing. Not quite fighting but establishing who is boss.
The colors of those feathers just light up its surroundings. What a gorgeous Robin species ! And those "dance moves" were fantastic. Your Robin story was filled with humor and great info. The filming was superb, really showing off the bird's glory. I was totally smitten until the end... Think I fell in love with each one of your Australian Robins.
You know, on the other side of Australia there is a Pink Robin. Now, that little guy is something special. Unfortunately we will never see him on our property. Thanks for dropping by Brenda😊
Me too. But I like the one with the red cap more. We have both of them living near our house. Their hunting territories cross over, but they seem to get along. They do actually have different characters. Thank you for your comment😊
Me too. We have both the Scarlet and the Red-capped Robin nesting close to our house, so we see them every day. For some reason I like the Red-capped Robin more. Thank you for your nice comment😊
Welcome new friend. Your interesting comment and support is very much appreciated. It is however a little more complicated, than that. The European robins are part of the flycatcher family but the Australasian robins are not. The Australasian robins belong to the bird family Petroicidae which includes 49 species and are endemic to Australasia which includes Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea and some Pacific Islands. But then it gets more interesting. The Scarlet robin is only found in Australia which does include the Australian island state Tasmania but nowhere else. And The red capped robin is only found in the drier regions of the Australian mainland. Not even in Tasmania. That is why those two robins are known as Australian robins.
We have both the red capped and scarlet robins nesting near our house, so even though they are shy we get to see them often. My favourite robin is the candy pink one but unfortunately they don't live in our area. Thank you for your interest!
In Australia there are so many different colour robins. The most beautiful is the pink robin. Yes, pink like candy. Unfortunately we don't have any of these on our property. Thank you for your lovely comment😊
They are lovely little guys. Both the Scarlet and Red-capped ones live in the bushes around our house. We feel very privileged. Thank you Denise, really
They're so beautiful🧡🧡🧡 Loved those unique movements and your fun comments!!! The bird sounds in the background, along with that buzzing made a wonderful BGM 👍🏾 Enjoyed watching all the cuties ❤️ Thank you 😊🤝🏽
They are all Robins. The one with the red cap is also my favourite, but he doesn't like being filmed. Always takes off when he sees me coming. Thank you for watching and your delightful comment😊
Lovely footage of the pretty Scarlet and Red-capped Robins! Here in Queensland I don't see those, but I do regularly see Yellow Robins, which are also quite pretty!
Yellow robins should be in our area too and I think I have seen them fleetingly a couple of times but they are getting rare because the Kookaburras can easily find their eggs. But we have lots of scarlet robins and a few red-capped around our house so we get to see them every day😊
The colours of the males are so vivid and the patterns eye catching. Must take some patience to capture video of such a small and speedy bird. I’ve watched many of your videos now and the camera rotation around the wildflowers is pleasing. The information captions you add provide interesting context. Thanks for your efforts.
Those robins nest near our house so we get to see them a lot. Sometimes they get curious and come close to have a look at what is going on, and sometimes I guess they just get tired and can't be bothered to fly away. The camera has a 20X optical zoom which helps!
Australian robins are really small and pretty. There is even a candy pink one. That one is my favourite but they don't live on our property unfortunately. Thank you for your interest and support. We appreciate it!
Very pretty species, it's interesting that each continent has robins but none of them are similar to each other, Indian robins are also very different from any other

They are beautiful birds and I had no idea that they weren't related to other robins!! Great captures and thanks so much for sharing these wonderful birds with us. Wishing you a great day.
I know what you mean Becca. Quite a few people seem to know the story of the early settlers naming the American Robin after the European Robin, but apart from that, people in general (at least in Australia) seem to take it for granted that Robins are the same species with minor differences around the world. I have often wondered whether it would be an interesting project if other wildlife channels would also make a video with the same title, like "American Robins are Different" etc and each channel providing links to the other ones. I suppose that a super channel like yours would not gain much with a collaboration like that, and it probably wouldn't make any significant difference to the views of the other channels, but it would be interesting. Do you think the idea has merit?
First time seeing these beautiful robins and wow what a colorful variety of sweet little birds! I didn't realize just how many species there are. Excellent footage.
Thank you very much for your praise, although I don't feel that some of the clips in this video deserve it. These birds nest close to our house but they are not very easy to film, so at that time I didn't have much at hand. I would say that the Australian Robin has the most colourful varieties in the world. My favourite is the pink one. Yes, Candy Pink! It is unbelievable! Unfortunately that one does not live in our area. Thank you for dropping by
@@wildhomevideos Yes the pink ones look awesome!! The footage was fantastic, thanks for sharing these birds with us. I may have never gotten to see them, if you hadn't made this (I'm in the US) 🙂 Thanks
We have them nesting around our house so we get to see them most days but they still don't make it easy to film. They always stop just further than I need for my 20X telephoto lens to get a nice clip😬 Thank you Zoe😊
Lovely footage of these cuties. They look very similar in shape to the European robin, with their skinny legs and pot bellies 😊 I was surprised they weren't related. You have such pretty robins over there.
there are several species of Australian robin, and they are all beautiful. I've only seen the Eastern Yellow Robin, but I hope to see one of the pink ones!
Yea me too! Unfortunately the pink ones are not in WA where we live. The pink ones are my favourite but second to that I really like the Red-caped Robin. I'd like to share something with you. I think it will make you smile😊 We published a video 46 seconds long. It is called Robin with a "Red Cap". Just watch it to the end and let us know what you think. If it doesn't make you smile I will buy you a coffee
Entertaining video! Beautiful filming and informative. I learned something new about robins. And, love their cool moves! Cool white patch on the male's forehead - he is one handsome dude.
This robin only exists in some drier parts of Australia. We have several nesting on our property because we are on the edge of a dry region. That is why we have both the Red-capped and the Scarlet Robin which prefers the wetter regions and is more common. Thank you very much for your interest 😊
Yes, ours are tiny. Yours are big bruisers by comparison. Yours love to catch big worms, if a red capped robin tried to eat a big worm it would look like me wrestling with an anaconda😬
I thought it was a relative to the European robin when I first saw it, but wow is it more pumpkin colored! I'm assuming the singing in the background is the robin's song. It fits with the nightingale family it's in, but the American robin is in the wood thrush family. It just got called robin by the homesick Europeans when they adventured to the New World. Such a lovely share as were your recent orchid video! 🤗
No unfortunately our robins are not very vocal most times. The audio is just the background noise of other birds, although there is a robins chirp there every now and then. The only time their chirp is obvious in this video is in the clip right at the end, and even that is pretty easy to miss. Thanks for your lovely comment. It is nice to get some feedback about the orchids😊
I did not know there are many Australian Robins. They are all beautiful with wonderful colors and that great expression of sweetness and curiosity that our American Robin also has. Thank you for the beautiful images and information! Best regards, Cathy
Of course as I am sure you know, the only real Robins are the European Robins. When the Europeans spotted any bird with a reddish chest during their travels it automatically became a Robin. That aside, I think Australia is home to the most colourful robins in the world. We even have a Pink Robin! Seriously that is the most beautiful Robin of all. Unfortunately it lives about 4'000 km from us, but look it up, tell me if I am wrong. Thank you for your lovely comment Cathy😊
They are lovely little birds. Their chest might look a little more orange in the video than in real life. They are actually bright red. Thank you for your nice comment😊👍
great footage and info :). I saw a male and female scarlet robin the other day and they were gone so quickly I couldn't get my camera out in time. It must have taken ages to get so much footage, well done :)
It didn't take too long, only a couple of years😁 If I had a better telephoto lens it would be a cinch. I could probably get better clips in one afternoon. We have the red capped and scarlet robins hunting around our house every day so you might get a chance to get some nice images when you come over
@@wildhomevideos 😂 I'm like you, I don't have all the equipment either. I do all my filming on my phone. Wow, you see them every day, that's so wonderful, I hope I see them and can't wait to see the orchids too. 😊

Not many people we know seem to be aware of that. Thanks for your support Billy B😊
great footage and info :).
Super cute bird 😍
