The journey from Mauville to Lilycove is one of the most memorable ones in gaming for me. Leaving the comfort of Mauville to head into the rain, darkness, surrounded really tall grass. Running into team aqua on the way, discovering the oasis that is Fortree city, through to the eventual clear skies with the sun shining. Just oof
This feels like the most hoenn theme out of all hoenn themes. It's just pure water, every sound reminds me of the sea I feel like on a boat in the middle on the sea with wingull flying over my head
I always thought the old couple looking over the sea was a very nice touch. It gave more of a realistic feel and that these people had a history and story to tell.
nostalgia is magical. it really makes you sad that you can't go back to the good old days where ruby and sapphire were the big things. but it makes you happy that you had the privilege to live through such a great time :')
Dang. Not just a childhood and Pokemon. I'm turning 23 in november and I remember playing this back in late 03-mid 04 or so. I must say: seriously, for me it's not just Pokemon. As a guy who grew up in Modesto, this really makes me feel nostalgic and inside I'm even a bit teary because of how entertainment was then: Pokemon in Hoenn, Cramp Twins on Cartoon Network, but notably, Disney shows like Lilo and Stitch, That's so Raven, and especially Lizzie Mcguire with Hilary Duff, who's an angel to me. Notably too: that was before my grandma passed away. Like if you can agree that this music doesn't just relate to pokemon but a wonderful childhood with all kinds of memories to remember.
I agree 100%, yet I'm 15 almost 16. Pokemon emerald was my first pokemon game along with leafgreen/firered. Around a year later, my older cousin gave me pokemon yellow, and then gen 4 came out and so I moved on too pearl/diamond/platinum/heartgold/soulsilver. Every song gives me so many memories holy shit.
There was so much to do in Lilycove. You had the Contest hall, the massive store, the museum, the boat ride, the ‘secret cave’ and just outside the city there is the safari zone. I think it’s the equivalent of Celadon City for Hoenn.
I love this watlz rythim. It's incredible how pokemon soundtrack is always so magnificent, since the begining, it always feels like one of the best soundtrack ever created
I think ruby sapphire and emerald have one of the best music tracks in the whole series, and I'm not being nostalgic either, (since these were not my first games to the series) the music in these games are just that good! Can't wait to see what they sound like in the remakes :)
I play this when i was like a 7 year old, I couldn't afford a Gameboy advance but i had a windows xp, so i downloaded a emulator and the first game that I play was Pokemon Emerald, and when i arrived to Lilycove city i loved the music, I stooped there for a while just to hear it, such nostalgia.
You know for a town that didn’t have a gym leader, this one tiny village felt so big and packed with things too do. I hope Pokémon brings back the route system into Pokemon and tries to make a path you can follow in a sense, but still make it so I can cut in between routes too different cities.
As soon as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were announced, my brain started to cycle through all of the RSE music that I loved. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this theme for at least 20 minutes now. The hype is immeasurable. I can't wait.
Simpler times when everything was good in life, no stress, no bills, no job, and no worries. I miss those days soo much! Thanks for the nostalgia, one of my favorite games ever I had ruby, Sapphire, and emerald at the same time lol
Liliycove was one of my favorite cities to visit whenever I played emerald. I could visit the department store or museum, participate in a contest, go on the S. S. Tidal, talk to the old married couple, run around the water at the beach. But what brought me back the most was knowing I would listen to this music. As a kid, I never could’ve imagined the my adult self would drop tears as I listen to this soundtrack again after so many years. I closed my eyes and as I listened, I could see myself playing again-running through the beach, I can hear my footsteps splash in the water as I run…it really took me back. Now it’s memories I never knew I would cherish so fondly.
This always reminds me of the forst scene of howls moving castle. The part where Sophie and Howl fly/walk over the whole city X3 I really liked the Advance generation soundtracks. They were so fresh, energetic, and highly maritime more often than not :D
I don’t know why this particular music which I love gotten stuck and on repeat in my head I was frantically looking for it and here I am my mind is at ease 😹😌
This is my favorite song in all of RSE. Just hearing that beginning reminds me of when i first came here; I literally waited to hear the entire song before entering the Pokemon Center.
I haven't played this game in years and finally I decided to pick it up and play it again. It was like a time capsule to me. It reminded me of my time in fourth grade when I played this for hours and hours on end. All the time I was thinking "Why did I put this game down? It's even more amazing than I remember it!" Then it dawned on me; "because I'm in high school and would look like a total idiot playing this." I really hate today's society...
