  • I would never spend the money to buy an actual MG-34 from World War 2. What would I do with it? They're really expensive to own and shoot so it would most likely end up on display somewhere in my home. If I'm just going to fill up wall space, then maybe I should just make one of my own.
Most of this will be constructed from material I already own, such as Poplar Boards, PVC pipe and Electrical Conduit. I'm pretty sure that I can do the whole project for less than $50.00.
This is Part 1 where I'll make the receiver from 3/4" wood, carpenter's glue, a few screws and some spray paint.
I hope you'll enjoy it. It's turning out better than I dared hope and I feel like a proud papa already.
    Thanks, Bob

Whoa! That’s really cool! I like the way you painted it and then weathered it. It looks real to me!

Like your work. Graphite makes miracles too for a steel look on everything.😉

Fantastic Bob.! BIG fan of Forgotten Weapons. John Browning would often create a wooden prototype however, probably not to the level of detail you are going to take this project.! Can't wait to see the rest of this build.!👍

Great detail! Big fan of your channel and custom model videos! Is there any chance you could do a video on your full model train collection?

Thanks Jake. I did a video on all the trains I made for the movie, Silver Streak. I was thinking about a video showing my Amtrak stuff. Maybe one for Baltimore and Ohio equipment too. Sometimes when people show a video of their “full collection “, it almost seems a little boastful. A lot of what I have is pretty random too… like bargains from train shows so I don’t know what I’ll do. 🤔 But I do hope you have a great week. 👍🏻
