illuminati_pepe what you will tell about me than:my best ever finding was MG42 as well! But unlike this one it was in the crate-just sent to the German paratroopers back then and never found until I got my luckiest ever signal! And the thing is that when I opened the crate I didn't believe my eyes:it was completely intact, without a single piece of rust and the smell was like from a haystack inside! And in addition to that I found out that it was also all matching, all 179 parts(even screws and springs had 2-digits numbers on them)! And the last thing I discovered while first observing my beauty was that the bore had a so called industrial blueing!Which meant that it was unfired since production in year 1943!So I was the first ever one who fired it since it was built, and as I seen, the blueing was gone after first dozen shots from it,which confirmed my guess! My grandfather managed to steal an mg 42 in the debris of a bunker after troops had destroyed it, it was in perfect condition with an ammobox near it both are in a case with little oxygen or moisture to avoid rust as it is now the airloom lmg from germany
Indeed, you're correct! I already thought to see some differences, but never thought about that weapon! That explains that i have found a German gas mask canister and a lighter and other German stuff next to it. That machine gun was probably used by German troops! Thanks for your comment! Gr Nick
You never know what you're gonna find.. but if there was.. it would be a shocking find.. but at the same moment a good find. Then we could give him a proper burial. So many soldiers never returned home..
KevinGuy ProductionsTM Well, the only thing that he could be able to retrieve is their helmet and attire, since the body has surely decomposed and the bones may be as well
This is fascinating! I have a huge interest in the Second World War and in particular, the planes of the time. My great grandfather served on a Motor Torpedo Boat in the British Navy during the war but like many, he didn't talk about it and sadly I was very young when he died. Subscribed to your channel and look forward to future videos!
+Adam. Thanks for watching man! It's a really interesting hobby!Nice, you can be proud on your great grandfather! My great grandfather was boatswain on the Isaac Sweers, a u-boat destroyer! He fought together with the British!I still have his boatswain whistle and British army boots!
+k98100 Very cool! My grandfather has the war medals earned by my great grandfather but i'm not sure if we have any other items. Our family is quite well spread out around the UK so there could easily be more memorabilia down south which I haven't seen. Will have to ask my family about it!
BornInYou that jews were murdered is nearly 80 years ago, no German from the actual generation has something to do with the WW2 and what else happened back in the 1940's.
The Battlefield One music at 6:00 is great, but how did you know almost 2 years ago, lol. Followed by the menu music from Halo. I like your style, hahaha
***** That makes more sense seeing how this vid came out way before BF1, but after BF1942. I'm afraid you should listen again though. It is the BF1 theme, so we are both right.
The BF1 theme is similar, however it is not quite the same. The BF1 theme is a nice nod to the BF1942 theme, just watch a video of the BF1942 main menu theme. Not to mention it is impossible that this video has the BF1 theme as the game wasn't even announced in 2014.
Someone throw the MG42 down this wall probably 1945. Was it a a soldier from Allies destroying the German stuff or was it a German soldier after fighting has end. Was he sad that Germany now will probably end but still happy he had survided and the fighting is over to get back to the family? I'd love to watch out of a time machine going back to the moment the MG42 gets thrown down the wall.
Probably dumped by retreating German soldiers in 1944, or allied soldiers dumped it after it killed a lot of their man. Really interesting.. it would be so cool to see what happened there! Gr Nick
dismantle it down to just the reciver take the reciver to a sandblast/metal shop have it sandblasted buy a Mg42/Mg53 parts kit assemble it and wholla you got yourself a Curio and Relic mg42 thats legal in US russia maybye and anywhere that doesnt have laws
You might try electrolysis on the MG42 once it thoroughly washed. Manual trickle charger, washing soda, water of course. Sacrificial anodes, make sure everything is hooked up right or it will eat the MG rather than the rust. It will buzz the rust right off.
P.S. Entschuldigung für mein Deutsch.. Ich bin Niederländisch :P Gr Nick
When that MG42 fell back in after the magnets let go, I would have dived in and grabbed that thing. Never mind the potential danger of rust cuts, I'd still risk it for a piece of history.

Athakravi111 Airsoft the good part about the MG-42 is that it is still in production and in service of the German army today
The MG42 is not in service today, but a very similar gun the MG3 is.

You are sure you are not confusing the MG3 with the MG42? The MG3 is very similar, some parts are even interchangeable between them.

Where? What country did you find that?
Antarctica
Atlantis?
Can I purchase that rest solid relic? you pulled on the bridge?
I dont live in the us like you!
pease
Xplosion51 so your country

The Germans used a lot of Czech stuff in WW2. Tanks, weapons etc.. Really interesting!
Gr Nick
k98100 you found Hitler's buzz saw
Wonder how many lives that gun took on d day?
Love the music
EPIC! Just subscribed!! I was excited by the MG42 find!!!!! You videos are on up there with "historyrevived" !!! Well done!!
+gregsgarage1 Thank you man!! :)
Gr Nick
The Germans did not make weapons. That made dangerous art.
My grandfather managed to steal an mg 42 in the debris of a bunker after troops had destroyed it, it was in perfect condition with an ammobox near it both are in a case with little oxygen or moisture to avoid rust as it is now the airloom lmg from germany
the magazines (clips) are actually from the zb 30 light machinegun not from a B.A.R.
Indeed, you're correct!
I already thought to see some differences, but never thought about that weapon!
That explains that i have found a German gas mask canister and a lighter and other German stuff next to it.
That machine gun was probably used by German troops!
Thanks for your comment!
Gr Nick
k98100 hehe, would love to have the chance to do what you are doing. Keep up the good work!
Oros Raul i'd say buy a metal detector and try it! :)
Thanks for watching!
Gr Nick

Gr Nick

🗿
how did you find it in the water?
Please try to reunite the dog tags with the families!
Totally awesome video & music. Thank you for sharing, kind regards from Queensland, Australia.
Thank you very much for watching! :-D
Gr Nick
Do you ever try to find the owners of the dog tags to se if any of them are still alive ?
Yes i do, but most of the dog tags that i have found are from dead soldiers.
But i did found their graves.
randeetodd
Do you report the graves?
This is an awesome video. Each find I’m like. WOW!
what if there was burried soldiers under there 😶
You never know what you're gonna find.. but if there was.. it would be a shocking find.. but at the same moment a good find.
Then we could give him a proper burial.
So many soldiers never returned home..

Well, the only thing that he could be able to retrieve is their helmet and attire, since the body has surely decomposed and the bones may be as well
The bones usually remain however, given the right conditions I would imagine it was possible to find semi preserved bodies
Yeah cod mw3 depicted world war 3 and was,2016 it is 2018 we are, fine but if Trump and Korea fight we are screwed
Adam. Nice that your family still owns the medals! It would be awesome if you found more! :)
nice i'm german
BornInYou you are racist
Me look at my profire
BornInYou that jews were murdered is nearly 80 years ago, no German from the actual generation has something to do with the WW2 and what else happened back in the 1940's.
mudislav 98 someone didn't get the joke
Jumper Central I can not recognize the joke
The Battlefield One music at 6:00 is great, but how did you know almost 2 years ago, lol. Followed by the menu music from Halo. I like your style, hahaha
Haha, thanks!!
I love that music!! :-)
Thank you for watching!!
Gr Nick
That's not Battlefield 1 music. It is the main menu theme from Battlefield 1942.
I didn't saw the battlefield ( 1 ) part ;-P
It's indeed the music from battlefield 1942. That music always comes back in the games :-) *****
Gr Nick
if anyone wonders (which I doubt you do), 9:50 is Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage
Damn son, a 1942 mg?
1942 mg? What the fuck is that?
+JokuRandomPoju The German machine gun found in the video
xXxYoLoNoSc0p3r360xXx Sw4g it's Machinengwehr 42
+GermanDude no I doubt most likely 43-44
+Lux there was no such thing as MG 43 or 44
For using the composition "Kenji Kawai - Enigma and Dunkirk" as background music, undoubtedly like!
IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM
고로 TV they have functioning ones in museums
Good reference haha
Think he meant Indiana jones
TV고로 SO DO YOU
nah this shit belongs in my house
XD that sad song from Halo, but in all seriousness that's depressing but also neat video.
Thank you for watching!! :-)
Gr Nick

fluffo7ishere Many different accounts under the name “bleach” or “clorox” etc
That thing has been resting peacefully under that water for almost 70 years, it's crazy
Yes, unbelievable.. glad it's saved from rotting away now! :)
Gr Nick
MG42 fires 7.92x39MM Rounds not 8mm ones
The MG42 fires 7.92×57mm Mauser..
It shoots the same ammo as a normal mauser K98, that's 8mm Mauser.
Gr Nick
liked the little battle field 1 theme you had going
even though the game wasnt realesed at the time
It's from the game Battlefield 1942, that's an old game :-)
Thanks!
Gr Nick
Really hoping u guys make more metal detecting videos, i loved this one!
PS Awesome find :) Im always dreaming finding one MG42 too :D
Thanks! I appreciate your comment!
I wish you the best luck to find one!
It's not impossible as you can see... ;)
Gr Nick
If you go on a search in Rhineland. Do you first search where battles were fought?
You might try electrolysis on the MG42 once it thoroughly washed. Manual trickle charger, washing soda, water of course. Sacrificial anodes, make sure everything is hooked up right or it will eat the MG rather than the rust. It will buzz the rust right off.
P.S. Entschuldigung für mein Deutsch.. Ich bin Niederländisch :P
Gr Nick
Unreal man so cool. Stuff has been there for 70 years
imagine getting that gun back and functioning. man what a trip
Funny moments “nooooo!!!!!” And “c’mon baby”🤣😂
Have you cleaned up the rust ? If you did restored it to some degree i will much like to see some pictures.
When that MG42 fell back in after the magnets let go, I would have dived in and grabbed that thing. Never mind the potential danger of rust cuts, I'd still risk it for a piece of history.
Love the battlefield theme in the background
Thank you for watching! :)
Gr Nick
My grandfather was a paratrooper 82nd airborne. Never got to meet him
Was there a follow up with any of the dog tags and surviving families???
