Thanks Gavin, Charlotte and of course Adorama. I can remember ordering gear via mail-order from the Adorama ads in back of Peterson Photographic and waiting weeks for it to arrive... times sure have changed.
I enjoyed this show quite a bit. For props and costume clothing, I frequent the local thrift shops about every other week. There's almost always a new find or three there. My make-up chair was $10, party dresses for my mannequin $5.50, full length leather men's jacket $20, etc. Wigs from Halloween section of Walmart for about $10.
Thanks, Gavin and crew! I enjoy your creativity and your delivery of information. I learn and am entertained at the same time. Thanks for the inspiration!
Always love your videos. It is so nice to see what can be done in a small studio space with limited gear , wonderful insight and a great deal of imagination! Congratulations to the entire team!
Missed the live stream, but why would I want to skip the first few minutes of any Gavin video? Gavin is a bright spot on any day. Feel better both Gavin and Sam. Super should out to Charlotte for wearing those lenses. I could never do them. Gavin should pick up a piano stool. Very handy with sitting heights.
Doing live sessions is soo much better. It feels so much more natural to see how a light wasn't turned on or a shot just doesn't look like one would expect and then see how to fix it. That teaches much more than the "you dial in these values and voilá!" Thanks a lot. One additional gear question: what is the bowens mount "Magnum" reflector? I tried to get one and couldn't find it anywhere… thanks
Thank you, there's certainly no re-shoot or edits in the live sessions. What you see is EXACTLY the reality of a photo session. The magnum reflector is www.adorama.com/glrf70bo.html
I know I missed the live, but at 27 minutes when the tether cable was mentioned... could it not be tethered using wifi or bluetooth to avoid the cable hassles?
Hi Tim. I could tether using either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth but I prefer a USB cable partly for it's speed and reliability but mostly because I've got years of experience tethering that way.
@@GavinHoey experience, speed and reliability are all good reasons. I don't shoot tethered much (perhaps I should) but I know I'd be tripping over the cable all the time. 🤣 Thanks for a great show as always. 👍
That was taken on location at our Halloween workshop. Charlotte (the same model as you see in the live session) did her make up, we did the styling and Flashpoint did the lighting. One light outside, one light inside and a colour shift in the white balance.
Gavin, Daniel and Seth - my favourites!
Thank you Gavin
Thanks Adorama for sponsoring, these videos are very helpful!
In my experience no matter how big my studio is I always end up being squashed in the corner. Great work as always!
That's exactly what I was trying (and failing) to get across Philip. Thank you 👍
Gavin - you are simply the best!
Educational and entertaining and its free 👍

I can't find it anywhere on the adorama website
Flashpoint junior to baby adapter. There is the same question a little below which Gavin gave the link in.

This how you make creep subject more creepy with lightning 🤟🤔
I made my “light strainer” from a light cover by drilling holes in it. It’s black and already has the Bowens mount!
Where can I get the canvas background sir?
@Gavin next time what about a light from underneath the crystal ball to have it lit
Super like to super Gavin…if i live in England i hope to be ur assistant with no money paid.
Thank you 👍
Great live guys! can you pls add a link to the magnum reflector you used?

Hallo from Belgum love you all
informative.
Great video
That’s a nice t-shirt
Gavin, could you send me a reference to the smoke or Fog that lasts a long time that you use outside? Thanks. Loved the video.
Look for fog fluid that's described as thick or long hand time like this for example www.adorama.com/chhdf.html
@@GavinHoey Thank you.
How did you create that awesome thumbnail photo thats what I want to know!

#heerooooo! :D
17:15 thats hard to see... BTW i manage this somehow with tripod... by not using any weight with a heavyer gear (lens+body)
Luckily the OM-1 is a tough camera.. and it fell onto a soft rug!
T>Y> Sir. You are awesome. And kudos to the crew> for their outstanding work. Happy Halloween!
Thanks Michelle 🎃
Gavin, have a look at the smoke genie portable smoke machine, its just what the doctor ordered..... No discount if you mention my name sadly...:)
Hi Don. Unless they've got a bigger version then I remember, I'm not sure the Smoke Genie is going to have the output I'd need.
Hello
Where can I get the canvas background sir?
You can get it from Adorama www.adorama.com/bglb7932.html
Great video
Thanks Kirsty, it was a fun session 👍
