Drifting tanks can sometimes break some stuff... turns out we sheared some bolts off the brake rotor hub adapter! They must've gotten loose, easy fix!

Does anyone know if the Dale Truck raced at Bristol in the past?
Edit: yes. It raced in the 1996 Coca Cola 200 at Bristol. The #3 truck driven by Mike Skinner started on pole, and finished 4th.
The Bristol 1000 will be its first time on that track in 26 years

@@jcc3494 in the video where he got pulled over, he told the cop that the truck was "a 96' ", and the windshield banner proves that it raced in the craftsman series. So it just googled "1996 craftsmen truck series bristol" (the full race is on TH-cam if you want to watch it).
I believe this truck was a road course truck, not 100% but I feel like it was mentioned when they were tuning the suspension. So I guarantee it didn’t race at Bristol
@@unapproachable0942 I dont think so. Cleetus himself (and the previous owner) said it was raced in the truck series. And when he got the truck back from Kevin (KSR), he explained how the suspension was set up for oval racing

You've got so many drag cars now, (and building another stick one) you should just set the dale truck back up for permanent oval duty again. It's never seemed as 'happy' on the strip as it did on the street or the banks.
Yeah the Dale truck is for turny turny stuff. Not necessarily oval either - I’d like to see some circuit racing too (but understand the channel isn’t really about that)
It also needs to rev like the Mustang.
Cleetus is never going to race the dale truck hard, just exhibition runs, and circle track suspension would ruin it for street ability. After he did those laps at the F500 he said it does circle better than when he first got it.
I think it got set up to be drivable on the street mostly.

I'm the same way, day is always better knowing I have a vid to watch, but I realize that he has a life, and it's about to get busier. I wouldn't be surprised to see the videos slow down a bit, or more people taking over putting out videos so that Cleet can be with his son. It only makes sense. But I know the content will still be coming out and can't wait to see his family grow and where he takes things next!

As cool as the RipSaw seems to be, it appears to have issues with breaking things somewhat easily. Didn't Dave Sparks break his fairly quickly

Have you seen the drive system on that rip saw? It uses an open diff and all running gear from an actual truck. The only way to turn is apply the brakes to one side, that one side still wants to drive tho so the stress on all the connections between diff and track drive sprocket on whichever side you are forcing to slow down is quite significant. obviously it's not a perfect design when you see how many brake callipers it needs to turn. Normally tracked equipment will disengage the drive completely to the side you are turning into before applying the brake to that side to sharpen up the turn. Cleets system works ok if you give the diff time to adjust for the turn but if you are aggressive with that turn in and lock the brakes up on that one side instantly things tend to get upset. The terrain you are on does affect that a little also as there is a lot of grip on established grass and dirt as opposed to loose or loamy sand or snow. Cleet knew he shouldn't have done that last maneuver also but sometimes ya gotta learn lessons the hard way.
