    Having done the big block swap a couple times I would say, don't bother. As you've discovered header clearance is a real problem. If the aim is to do burnouts, you want RPM's, so stick with the 318 or go 340. Either will go to 7500-8000rpm with the 3.31in crank. Once you go for strokers then the RPMs will be lower, but it'll make more torque. How much torque do you need to do burnouts though? The other option is to get and R5P7 NASCAR engine (or one of the newer variants). These can be had relatively cheap and they will sing to 9000rpm+.

    Schumacher makes conversion mounts to stuff a RB 440 in a small block K-member, I just did this on one of my cars. Its a very straightforward and easy process but the big block mopar is a pig and hard as hell to cool in these cars. A hot small block or Gen 3-4 Hemi would be perfect in this car. I have a 73 440 Roadrunner, 70 440 Sixpack Charger and a 73 340 Cuda. The 340 Cuda is just alot easier to throw around and have fun with. The 340 wraps up way faster than the 440 and the 340 has no problem keeping its temperatures in a manageable level in Texas heat.

If you want big block, I’d go B like a 383 or 400, going to an RB like a 440 raises the deck height and makes for exhaust fitment issues. if youre doing a small block, you might as well stroke it. if you do then it makes no sense to use a 340 block as the very small amount of bore increase is only worth 8 cubic inches between a 408 or a 416 stroker. depending on block, you can get up to 440 small block but i would not use a stroked engine like that for a burnout vehicle.
      it makes sense to use a newer hemi and go from there. the old stuff is fun but its just so far behind and doesnt make power unless you are using aftermarket cylinder heads and block. at that point, its not even really a mopar engine anymore.

      @@jacksmiththeboss using a 318 block is really stupid because theres no reason to limit yourself on bore size and mopar small block heads are pretty limited selection anyways. not to mention that you could build a 360 block for the same or less money then stroke that as well. none of the 30 based strokers have any problems as long as you keep it under 7500rpm when using forged parts. theres no reason to turn that much rpm anyways when you could build a 408 stroker for the same price that would absolutely shit all over a stupid 318 stroked to 340.

    Had me a 340 Duster Hemmi that we bored to 360 wanted to put a couple Turbskis on it but didn't have the dough. That 360 would corkscrew the frame like crazy till we beefed it up. Indestructible lil hemmi. Loved that car.

    They make a pro charge kit for the 318 it goes with the theme I say throw a 5.2L and put a pro charge kit on it. It would be a little different than anything you guys have in the shop which would go perfect with the mini burn out car that’s completely different than anything in the shop so I say pro charge with the 318

    There’s no reason to have negative camber on the left front wheel. If all you’re doing is turning left it could benefit from 0 camber on the left front, if not some positive

    5.7 hemi with a procharger would be pretty sweet. and the torqueflite WILL handle power just fine. keep it all mopar for once! a qa1 kmember would solve alot of fitment issues as far as steering(convert to rack)

    It's not just camber and toe, you need to put some caster split in it to help the car turn. And the crappy spring spacers aren't a great idea, there are better options.

  • @redneck3962

    Thow a 408 stroker in it. I'd love to say 440 big block, but then you'd have to change out the K-member to fit it. Lots of work, plenty of kits out there too. However the 408 stroker would fit right in and make plenty of power

    • @redneck3962
      @redneck3962 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also a hellcat would be sweet because hellcat swap everything, but again, insane amount of work to make that happen

    70 - 71 340. The motor has the rpm and the compression is nuts. That would be the easiest so you dont have to swap the Kframe for a BigBlock.
