33 Doner Kebabs sounds like a solid investment. Great reprint equity. We don't have Tesco here but if we did I would go for Smoked Ham and Cheddar, Dr Pepper, ad BBQ crisps. Gonna plug Battletech, a sci-fi miniatures game slightly older than Warhammer, which has been undergoing a renaissance in the past few years. I recently got the two core sets (A Game of Armored Combat and Alpha Strike) for $120 total and I'm ecstatic about it. You get two different rulesets: the in-depth and crunchy Classic rules, and the modern and streamlined Alpha Strike rules. The new miniatures from CGL are beautiful and pre-assembled, and you get more than enough for two players. You could paint them, if you wanted.. but you don't have to. The amount of gameplay value is just stellar, while leaving the path open for more mechs, more maps, more rules/mechanics. Couldn't be happier with it.

No-mayo falafel wrap, mango chunks, and a Costa coffee from the machine. Hobby-wise for the price of Commander Masters, you could get a decent pair of running shoes; 9 Blood Bowl teams with change to spare; or two and a half elven script tattoos.
I think the bigger discussion that your bringing to the table is the value of currency. Whether that's the dollar or the pound or whatever. I really hope more ppl see this video because it's so accurate to the overall problem of cardboard crack to begin with. It's predatory on those who gamble and who crave dopamine.
I wonder how many barrels of crude oil, how much weight in actual gold, how much truffle or ambergris you could buy for this? Probably at least 4 full tanks of petrol too. You could drive thousands of miles.
I mean for that price you could also just buy the singles you need for a commander deck WITH a commander from commander legends or get into pretty much any other cardgame with a pretty good deck.
Im from florida and you can get an entire annual pass to both universal theme parks with only 2 weeks of blockout dates. A WHOLE YEAR ANY TIME ALMOST ANY DAY.
You know, I recently came back to mtg and now I'm sitting here thinking "Damn, I could play a full on Yugioh deck loaded to the gills with staples for the price of a single box of commander masters boosters". I love these hobbies 😂

I got a Junior Super Series promo foil City of Brass from a whatnot stream and I've been playing with the idea of seeing if an LGS would let me trade it for a draft box since the market price for the promo is like $400.
Commander masters releases around my birthday, and I was gonna do a draft with friends with the set, but after seeing how poorly reviewed the set was we decided to draft return to ravnica instead.
Let me add one more thing to your list. Legions Realms at War a Canadian TCG that has been out for about 2 years is on its 3rd Major expansion Empires on the Rise is 110$a box 15 card backs 18 packs a box. They will be at GenCon as well.
My hobby money has gone to D&D books, dice and video games. Just being an adult finding time to enjoy those hobbies is tricky. I just save and buy what I know I’ll enjoy.
If you have a Time Machine, you could buy an Elegoo Saturn 2 and a wash and cure station for $300 and change. Throw in a couple kilos of resin and you’re at the same price as Commander Misery and now you can print every 40k mini you’ve ever thought of. Still a good deal now so still do that, but it was a goddamn steal last week.
I love these unhinged side videos 😂 I will be using the money to fix my car. Luckily I found a new DnD group so that will take my time and creativity and my magic collection hit a nice cap with all the product from the past half decade so I could brew decks forever and still not be done. It's all singles from here on.
I have been on and off playing magic casually for over 20 years now . Whilst never really going the whole hog in the past, for the past couple of months I have been hooked. I recently started to build and to play commander with friends at my local games store. Since being more aware of the scene I am just astounded at the ludicrous economy of magic cards. For the most part I am a total cheap skate preferring to go for the lowest value singles I can get for the version of cards. This works all well and good until you realise there are a bunch of “commander staples” that you just NEED if you want to have some level of fun with friends without being just a spectator. I guess this loops back to the mentioned spoilers and reprint economy you referred to a couple of videos ago. I find myself now genuinely torn to buy 12-13 quid packs or to just go for singles. A prime example I want a doubling season I have wanted one for a considerable amount of time but have always thought as much as I live this game can I justify 80 quid give or take on a piece of cardboard. I am not convinced this set will do much to lower that price either. Hope you do a video on the Eldrazi deck seems a bit vile. One final thought you will be proud to know I couldn’t bring myself completely dismantle the “bees” deck I built years ago from an old old vid of yours so I incorporated it into a token heavy commander deck #throwBees #HornetsNest #VolcanoHelion #ImpactTremors
Sausage Bacon and Egg Triple, a Twix (white choc nowadays) and some sort of energy drink. Absolute staple of my pre-releases, which is about the only time I get a Tesco meal deal these days. Speaking of which, on topic, 3 hundred quid's like, 3 pre-release weekend guantlets, food included.
This is the best video you have ever done. Everyone who plays MTG should watch this so they realise how much money they are spaffing on cardboard crack. I quit a few months back and have been having infinitely more wholesome fun painting and playing Bloodbowl.

>.> My cats could drown in the amount of HEALTHY treats I could buy them for them. Even adding in the price of a few more puzzle toys. I could probably build their cattio for that amount.
Commander Masters gave me the final push to try Flesh and Blood, and it's been a Amazing game to get in to( just need to find more stores hosting Armory events)
I could probably buy a new audio technica record player with that kind of money. Hell, with that kind of money, I could probably buy an even nicer audio technica record player than the one i currently want
Being in Mexico on vacation right now, a draft box of Commander Master appears to be about 5000 Mexican Pesos which is approximately 4,2 metric fucktons of tacos and beer/cocktails even at an overpriced tourist restaurant.
I spend most of my hobby money on furry-related stuff these days. Still spend a bit on MTG but not nearly as much as I used to. Also My monthly budget definitely isn't that huge, I'd save to save like 3 months to afford a commander legend box without having to make significant sacrifices elsewhere, and I know people who'd struggle to afford that. I feel though you can get a Commander precon for £40 which is great, the price of the game after that can be pretty crazy. Also my meal deal? A not southern fried chicken wrap, prawn cocktail quavers and some kinda fruit juice ^v^
Everything mentioned doesn't help play a second land, cast my commander turn 1, take an extra turn, tap for 2 colorless mana, tap for any color mana or deal 2 damage whenever a creature I control enters the battlefield
The 40k comparison really is what hits it the hardest. Magic has become just ludicrously expensive, and it’s sealed products don’t really offer up much besides gambling endorphin release. I honestly believe tcgs need to be government regulated, no joke.
For $300, you could buy a battletech alphastrike box that comes with 15 mechs and then 7 or 8 more smaller boxes with 4 to 5 mech's. That's 43 paintable mechs with rules and terrain.
I used to buy 2 collector boxes and 2 set boxes of each set. I stopped near the end of last year. It was just too much product. Now I only buy singles. I mean hell, I was buying singles after opening those boxes anyways.. Might as well just buy the singles, and now I don't have to sell bulk back to my lgs, and use more and more storage space with each set release.

I bought a case of the new FAB set for 350 (that includes shipping) thats 4 booster boxes
The best thing about Hero Quest is the price!! (and Broad Swoad)
Sadly the Odeon in my town closed just a few weeks ago. Still, my Tesco (which IS still open) meal deal of choice was usually a BLT, an apple and grape bag and a smoothie.
I do offroading as well as my need hobbies and an entire front suspension kit is under 300$ or I can get a junkyard engine upgrade for around 350$ if you have other hobbies it helps to put the money you spend into perspective.
I was just remarking to my FLGS the other day that 40k is looking like the cheaper alternative, but I had no idea it was *this* bad...
Preach!
I got a tag for hunting elk. Dream hunt for me and at the same cost as half a box of cards I feel it was the easiest decision ever.
"infinite movies" is a bit of an overstatement. however: love the vibe of that video :*
Nice, now there is somebody besides Vaush for the Horsecock content.
Thanks Vince
More to come!
And Kenobi doesn’t even say anything ableist! Winning!
You know, I recently came back to mtg and now I'm sitting here thinking "Damn, I could play a full on Yugioh deck loaded to the gills with staples for the price of a single box of commander masters boosters". I love these hobbies 😂
I mean you can also play a pretty strong commander deck for that price.
damn, how good are Tesco meal deals? If I ever visit the U.K. I will get some
For ~3 boxes, you could buy a brand new upright Yamaha piano. For reference, my school performs concerts on that piano.
So when I was little I wanted one of those cool electronic truck things you could ride around in as a kid... for $300 you could afford your kid one of the coolest toys out there
It's all about Sorcery: Contested Realm
I got a Junior Super Series promo foil City of Brass from a whatnot stream and I've been playing with the idea of seeing if an LGS would let me trade it for a draft box since the market price for the promo is like $400.
Commander masters releases around my birthday, and I was gonna do a draft with friends with the set, but after seeing how poorly reviewed the set was we decided to draft return to ravnica instead.
And this is exactly why I stopped playing MTG. I have a bad feeling that this issue will only get worst before it gets better… thanks Hasbro… 🙄
How is this Content monetized? I love it!
Let me add one more thing to your list. Legions Realms at War a Canadian TCG that has been out for about 2 years is on its 3rd Major expansion Empires on the Rise is 110$a box 15 card backs 18 packs a box.
They will be at GenCon as well.
2 Sorcery: Contested Realm booster box
My hobby money has gone to D&D books, dice and video games. Just being an adult finding time to enjoy those hobbies is tricky. I just save and buy what I know I’ll enjoy.
If you have a Time Machine, you could buy an Elegoo Saturn 2 and a wash and cure station for $300 and change. Throw in a couple kilos of resin and you’re at the same price as Commander Misery and now you can print every 40k mini you’ve ever thought of. Still a good deal now so still do that, but it was a goddamn steal last week.
Missed an opportunity to add 2 thing to the list, love the vid never the less
I love these unhinged side videos 😂 I will be using the money to fix my car. Luckily I found a new DnD group so that will take my time and creativity and my magic collection hit a nice cap with all the product from the past half decade so I could brew decks forever and still not be done. It's all singles from here on.
For me too. All singles
I second the kababs and chips sounding good.
My favorite meal deal though.. is a booster pack and a side if regret.
No wait!-
I have been on and off playing magic casually for over 20 years now .
I need to watch this whenever a new set drops. Keeps me down to earth lol
This is the best video you have ever done. Everyone who plays MTG should watch this so they realise how much money they are spaffing on cardboard crack.
I quit a few months back and have been having infinitely more wholesome fun painting and playing Bloodbowl.
For the price of all 4 commander masters precons(€270/£231.47), you can get a full power meta deck of Yugioh cards complete with staples that work in every deck you can think of. No upgrades required.
How many copies of seance...
Costco had an Epson Laser Printer for $389. 😁
I’m not in warhammer but iirc that army can also basically be used forever, bc the rules change but a space marine is still a space marine
>.> My cats could drown in the amount of HEALTHY treats I could buy them for them. Even adding in the price of a few more puzzle toys. I could probably build their cattio for that amount.
Commander Masters gave me the final push to try Flesh and Blood, and it's been a Amazing game to get in to( just need to find more stores hosting Armory events)
Welcome to Flesh and Blood 😁
7:35 what do you mean take a look at hobbies? You already mentioned the giant horsecocks
Co-op meal deal: A Sugar free Monster, All day breakfast sandwich, sausage roll. £3.50.
Feels good man
I could probably buy a new audio technica record player with that kind of money.
Yeah 3 month is about right for me too.
You can get a running car that needs work on your local yardsale site for the price of a box of commander masters
I honestly believe tcgs need to be government regulated, no joke.
you could print a play set of every card in the set for less than a box
Buy the LOTR Precons. All 4 Decks are full of quality reprints and they themselves are extremely fun to play, and pretty easy to upgrade.
For $300, you could buy a battletech alphastrike box that comes with 15 mechs and then 7 or 8 more smaller boxes with 4 to 5 mech's. That's 43 paintable mechs with rules and terrain.
strong support for the hoisin duck wrap! ketchup walkers are key though.
