Amo que a Fernanda é super empolgada com o filme ❤ 😂 Eu tô igual kkkkk Ninguém me aguenta mais mas eu continuo comentando porque toda hora vejo/leio algo interessante e quero compartilhar!
One of the Paiva children, Vera, the eldest daughter, revealed in an interview that not having a body to bury feels almost as though you must bury your loved one yourself. She explained that admitting to yourself that they are dead feels, in a way, like killing them. It means relinquishing the hope that they might still be alive somewhere. Vera said it felt as though accepting their father’s death was a betrayal of sorts, as if they were letting him down by admiting he was gone. This, I believe, is why Eunice never told her children the truth. She couldn’t know for certain, and to declare Rubens dead would be like killing him again in their eyes. (It's worth noting that around the time Rubens would have naturally passed away, from old age, Eunice had lost her memory due to Alzheimer's.) By allowing them to hold onto hope, however fragile or false, she was sparing them from confronting the finality of Rubens' loss before they were ready. Of course, it was cruel in its own way-each child had to come to terms with his death alone, on their own timeline-but this cruelty wasn’t of Eunice’s making. It was the cruelty of the dictatorship that had stolen Rubens from them. Eunice was also protecting her children. She knew that pursuing justice or even searching for Rubens’ whereabouts could place them in grave danger. She had no way of knowing how long the dictatorship would last, and so she made the heartbreaking choice to let them believe, for as long as possible, in the false narrative the military disseminated: that Rubens had escaped and was alive somewhere. Even years later, Vera recounts how people in power perpetuated this lie. Into the 1980s, long after Vera herself had stopped believing her father was alive, there were still individuals-sometimes even those on the progressive side-who insisted to her that Rubens was living in either Cuba, China, or Russia. Imagine that-the best hope the Paivas could cling to for their father was to imagine that he had abandoned them and started a new life with a new family somewhere else, in a socialist country. More than 10 years after his death, these stories persisted, further underscoring the insidious reach of the regime’s propaganda and the lasting harm it inflicted on those left behind.
A única atriz, junto à Drica Moraes, que poderia fazer Odete Roitman à altura. A Globo deveria aguadá-la, como fez com Glória Pires em Mulheres de Areia. Valeu muito à pena.
*Estamos com você, Fernanda Torres!*
